Who is Dex on ‘General Hospital’ – Sonny Tortures Michael’s Lackey for Answers
Who is Dex on General Hospital, and what happens when one of his bosses torments the double agent mob enforcer? Now, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) is the top suspect as the Hook Killer. And while he just got out of police custody, it’s a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire on GH on ABC.
Who is Dex on General Hospital?
Fans first got their first look at Dex Heller on GH on May 5, 2022. He came to town looking for work and made a beeline to mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). It turns out that was all part of a larger plan orchestrated by someone that despises the Teflon Don.
That someone? It’s his adopted son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), who vowed to destroy his dad. On General Hospital, Michael hired Dex to infiltrate the Corinthos cartel and help him wreck it from the inside. But things are far more complicated now.
Already, Dex is on thin ice with Sonny because he found out his new enforcer left the military under shady circumstances. He was ousted for brawling, but it turns out he was defending someone. That confession actually brought him closer to Sonny, who understands the urge to protect.
Until the most recent attacks by Port Charles’ latest serial killer, Dex Heller was making great inroads to gaining the mob boss’s confidence. Now, the attack on Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) changed everything. And boy, is he in hot water on General Hospital…
Why Did they Kill Brando on GH – Did Sonny’s Sidekick do the Deed?
Now, there have been three attacks by the Hook Killer in Port Chuck. First, it was Ava Jerome (Maura West) at the Quartermaine picnic. Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) found her, and Dex was on the scene after her. It was his military field medic experience that saved her life.
Next, the killer seemed to target Joss, but it was Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) that got hooked instead. So, why did they kill Brando on GH? He was a target of opportunity, it seems. The killer missed their chance with Joss and was trapped in the alley with Brando and so attacked him.
Then, General Hospital fans saw Diane Miller brutally attacked with the poison-tainted hook too. And Dex was there, conveniently, to also save her life. But that was one coincidence, too many. You may recall he was also in Charlie’s Pub the night that Brando was killed.
So, the police hauled him in for questioning. After all, Brando and Dex didn’t like each other, and people knew that.
And Ava was the ex of his current boss. Plus, Diane sided with Michael in the custody hearing against Sonny. So, the cops may think he’s doing dirty work for the Corinthos Cartel’s Don.
Tortured on General Hospital – Is Dex Heller the Hook Killer?
Rather than calling a lawyer as advised, instead Dex called Sonny from the PCPD on the most recent General Hospital. And the mobster ran right over, told the cops (including his son Dante) to kick rocks. He hauled the young man out of the interrogation room since they couldn’t hold or arrest him.
So, Dex Heller feels like he’s got someone looking out for him. But he’s totally wrong. The mob boss won’t drop him off at home. Instead, he takes him to a warehouse to torture for answers. Now, Sonny suspects that he’s behind the attacks. He’s also noticed that the Hook Killer assaulted people close to him.
He suspects his new flunky might be involved on General Hospital. Why? In the past, Dex got a little “exuberant” and lashed out at people on Sonny’s behalf.
Like when he beat the shady reporter that was stalking Sasha… Part of this is him trying to win brownie points to please both Sonny and Michael.
But no matter the beating he takes from Sonny (or another goon) on GH, Dex is not the Hook Killer and can’t give the mobster the confession he wants. Also, Mikey shows up to his dad’s office trying to rescue his pet spy, but that doesn’t go well.
The big question is whether Dex will confess to his shady deal with Mikey when he takes this beating. Or will it cement his resolve to help Michael ruin his adoptive dad? Watch for a brutally bad day for Dex Heller on the next GH on ABC.
