Most people wouldn’t see what she did for her daughter as special. However, TLC fans know that for the past few years, her relationship with all of her children has been somewhat strained. So is she making up for lost time?

Welcome to Plathville: Lydia Plath Post Shout-Out For Kim Plath’s Motherly Gesture

When Welcome to Plathville first began airing on TLC viewers were shocked to discover that at only 14, Lydia took on most of the family’s household responsibilities.

TKC fans labeled her the most responsible sibling. That’s because her mother always depended on her. Besides her school work, she was responsible for the majority of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her younger four siblings.

It’s now four seasons later and some fans still can’t figure out just what Kim Plath was so busy doing. It’s still unknown why her daily household and motherly responsibilities fell on her children.

So this is one reason why her followers believe she praised her mom, for packing her lunch for her last day of work. The lunch was simple, a ham sandwich, pretzels, an apple, and a drink.

Fans’ comments suggest that Lydia reacted the way because she is not used to these types of actions from her. Some followers also suggest that Lydia has always been kind and sweet. So, regardless of how she may have felt, she would have still thanked Kim for the thoughtful gesture.

Is Kim Slowly Working Her Way Back Into Her TLC Family’s Good Graces?

Welcome to Plathville fans have noticed that Lydia has always been the one child who stood up for her mom the most. No matter what Kim’s situation was at the time, Lydia seemed always forgiving.

Lydia was likely to offer some understanding even when her older siblings didn’t. Over the past couple of months, she has posted more about her mom.

When season four ended the family fell silent. A few weeks following the finale news broke that their mom had been arrested, and very little was heard from the siblings. Later, when they would post something to their social media pages, there was no mention of their mom. That is until recently.

A few weeks before Mother’s Day she shared a post updating her followers on her mom. She said Kim was doing really well and had spent more time with the little girls.

When Mother’s Day arrived she and her brother Isaac Plath shared a photo. Lydia and Isaac, along with their three younger sisters, Amber Plath, Cassia Plath, and Merci Plath were in the picture with mom Kim on Mother’s Day.

Many believe now that Kim has found a new love interest. Plus they suggest she is also trying to get back into the good graces of her kids. This is starting with the younger ones.

Welcome to Plathville: Lydia Plath Moves On

Lydia also recently announced that she would leave town, and her family behind for the summer. She will be on the road traveling across the United States on the Jesus Journey Mission Tour.

She says she is very excited about her trip. “I can’t wait to see how Jesus radically changes and impacts my life and let that flow through me to everyone around me as we travel from coast to coast!”

This also brings up another question. Who will care for the younger siblings while their father Barry Plath is at work, and while Lydia is away? Many wonder if this means the children will spend more time with their mom over the Summer.

Reality television fans are anxious for news about Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville. Last fall, Lydia revealed that Welcome to Plathville Season 5 filming was underway. However, there have been no official confirmations from the network or other family members.

Now that she is branching away from home like her older siblings, some believe it’s a matter of time before she is also ready to try life out on her own. Just like Ethan Plath, Micah Plath, and Moriah Plath

This leaves many viewers to believe even if Season 5 is a go, it will likely be the end of the series as we know it. However, it may also mean that the network could okay a spin-off or two featuring the older siblings.

Time will tell how it all plays out. For now, Lydia is ready to enjoy her Kim-prepared lunch and her upcoming summer adventure.
