Welcome to Plathville fans were in shock after hearing the news of Kim Plath’s DUI arrest. The reality star was arrested on October 20th in Wakulla County, Florida.

She now faces charges of DUI. As well as property damage and personal injury charges stemming from the June 2022 accident.

Reports state officers arrived on the scene of a car crash to find the Welcome to Plathville star’s car flipped upside down. The car rolled into in a ditch filled with water. In addition, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath.

She walked away with just a few cuts and bruises. However, she went to the hospital for treatment.

During the officer’s questioning, Kim admits to drinking two twelve-ounce margaritas. Medical staff drew her blood at the hospital and sent it to toxicology.

On September 3, toxicology reports show at the time of her accident, she was over the legal limit. Plath was a .161 and .162 BAC [blood alcohol content], which is double the legal limit.

On October 20, the Wakulla County Sheriff’s department issued a warrant for her arrest. On the same day, Kim voluntarily turned herself in. The Welcome to Plathville star spent just a few hours in jail before bonding out.

Will TLC Star Serve Jail Time?

Kim Plath was booked on misdemeanor DUI charges. The possible criminal penalties for a first-offense DUI conviction in Florida could result in $1000 and six months in jail. The defendant can lose their driver’s license for up to six months.

Per the State of Florida, if your BAC is above .15, you will not receive more than nine months. However, multiple convictions will result in extended imprisonment.

Sentencing terms may be served at a residential alcoholism or drug abuse treatment program. Which will be credited toward the term of imprisonment.
