‘Welcome to Plathville’: Kim & Barry in Divorce Limbo?
Welcome to Plathville parents Kim Plath and Barry Plath‘s divorce appears to be in limbo. The TLC reality couple announced during Season 4 that they had decided to end their 25-year-marriage.
As a result, the Plath divorce was one of the main storylines throughout the season. However, they have yet to file as of October 30, 2022.
Welcome to Plathville: Kim Plath Desperate to Leave Barry Plath
Welcome to Plathville star Kim Plath spent the entire fourth season trying to convince everyone in her family and viewers just how miserable she was in her marriage to Barry Plath. She made it her mission to convince all involved that she was miserable.
She spent time with each of her children, convincing them that she tried everything to work through the marital issues, which was no use.
Kim made it a point to say she needed to end the marriage fast for her mental health and happiness.
Welcome to Plathville: Barry Attempts to Save His Marriage to Kim
Kim Plath hasn’t been very popular with some Welcome to Plathville viewers. Fans feel she was too extreme when raising her children. Many also could not tolerate how she intruded into her oldest son, Ethan Plath’s marital relationship with his wife, Olivia Plath.
Barry Plath attempted to save his marriage despite all the outrageous demands and behavior. He says he tried to do and change everything that his wife noted was a problem between them. However, his efforts were useless. Kim had already made up her mind. She wanted out of the marriage.
Some Welcome to Plathville viewers felt something was off. They believed Kim was jumping too fast to call it quits on her marriage.
Some thought that the mother of nine might have been having an affair. Others think that she was so envious of the lives her older children were making for themselves she wanted to do the same.
TLC Fans Think Plath Divorce May Have Been Staged
Almost six months after the Welcome to Plathville spouses publicly announced their decision to split, neither has filed for divorce. Many think it doesn’t make sense seeing how throughout Season 4, she was in a hurry to end things.
However, with Kim’s legal issues, some TLC viewers are beginning to ask if she is having second thoughts about the divorce. Her recent car crash and DUI arrest prove all is not well.

Fans say she appears to be spiraling. Since the Season 4 finale, some fans have been convinced the divorce drama was staged for ratings.
Some predict that if the network and the Plath family agree to a fifth season, the storyline will focus on a Barry and Kim Plath reconciliation.
However, to date, no official information regarding the future of Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville has been released by either the network, or the family. The only thing that is known for sure is that as of October 30th Kim and Barry remained married.
