Teen Mom Farrah Abraham Reveals Sweet Mother’s Day Tradition
Farrah and her daughter Sophia spend the day celebrating Mother’s Day and Sophia’s father, Derek Underwood’s birthday. Sadly, Farrah Abraham’s daughter never met her father.
During MTV’s Teen Mom series, Farrah rarely mentions her baby father. Farrah reveals her mother, Debra Danielsen, made it clear that she wants Farrah to cut off all ties with the father of her child.
Abraham reveals being frightened and following her mother’s orders. So, she distanced herself from Underwood. Then, one month before Sophia Abraham was born, tragedy struck.
Abraham’s baby father, Derek, was killed in a horrific car accident at 18. On December 28, 2008, reports reveal that Underwood lost control of his car, killing himself and passenger Zachary Mendoza.
13 years later, on December 28, 2021, Teen Mom Farrah Abraham shared on Instagram a touching tribute to her daughter Sophia’s father. She calls Derek Underwood the love of her life while thanking him for their daughter.
So, twice a year, she reveals she and Sophia honor her late father. Today, Farrah and Sophia visit Underwood’s grave, adorning the cemetery plot with flowers, balloons, and cards.
They spent time with Derek’s father, Jerry Underwood and his wife, Debra Underwood. However, it’s reported that Farrah still doesn’t get along with Sophia’s biological grandmother, Stormie Clark.
Farrah Shares Going Through Changes
The Teen Mom alum reveals she has been through a lot this year. Farrah shares that she is making so many changes in her life. Early in May, Abraham shows that she has learned some scary details following a recent brain scan.
She shares with her social media followers that she is giving up alcohol. Abraham reveals her test results confirm she suffers from low brain activity. During therapy sessions with psychiatrist Dr. Kandace Licciardi gives Farrah a stern warning.
She tells Abraham that, at this point, she does not want to do anything that may cause more damage to her brain. The doctor tells Teen Mom Farrah that alcohol is particularly toxic to her.
Abraham admits to the doctor that she feels somewhat allergic to alcohol. She also blames it for her previous three arrests. Recall, this all came out during trauma rehab.
Abraham Is Confident About Her & Sophia’s Future
Abraham says she is over making all the wrong decisions. And she is changing her life for the better moving forward. The Teen Mom alum admits that she feels her time with Teen Mom was both helpful and harmful to her in the past.
She shares with her social media followers that she is continuing to work on improving her mental health and her life. Abraham also adds that she has learned so much herself recently. The former MTV star admits feeling confident about her and Sophia’s futures.
