Teen Mom alum Farrah Abraham recently had a brain scan that revealed low brain activity and here is what she plans to do about it.
Teen Mom: Farrah Abraham Reveals Alcohol Was Bringing Her Down
Farrah Abraham says she’s giving up alcohol. The former reality star discussed her relationship with alcohol during a recent video that psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen shared. During the video, she discusses her troubled past and what part she feels alcohol played in it.
She spoke in-depth with Amen Clinic psychiatrist Dr. Kandace Licciardi on her past issues. Dr. Licciardi warns the Teen Mom that she does not want to do anything that causes more harm to her brain.
However, the doctor continues explaining to Abraham about her condition. She states that alcohol is particularly toxic, but it is manageable.
Dr. Licciardi tells Farrah that alcohol lowers brain activity in the cerebellum. This is the part of the brain where she reportedly suffers from low brain activity.
She responds by telling the doctor that she has always felt she was allergic to alcohol somehow. But, she adds that the people she would tell never appeared to take her seriously.
Farrah Abraham continues revealing to the psychiatrist that she has learned a lot from her current treatment program. She states that she has become very adamant about her new health decisions.
Because she wants to keep alcohol out of her life, Farrah states that alcohol is no longer what she wants in her system or space. The Teen Mom says that she is just calling it her allergy, and people can respect that or not. She says she is past the point of caring.
Farrah Gets Serious About Her Mental Health
Farrah says that the decision to give up alcohol entirely makes perfect sense. She also reveals that she understands that she shouldn’t allow alcohol into her system.
And by having all the facts presented in front of her, things are apparent. The Teen Mom admits that alcohol will not help get her where she wants to be.
She adds that she is now aware of where she wants her energy to go in her mind to have better functioning in her life. Farrah Abraham confesses that she has been arrested three times, and each time alcohol has played a role in her legal troubles.
But, Farrah feels that she is learning one major thing after everything she has been through this year. Abraham adds that she understands that she is fixable. But, she believes it will take time.
Abraham reveals that it was frightening after she received her brain scan results. She states that it is scary to hear that you have low brain activity in your cerebellum.
Today, the Teen Mom admits her biggest fear is that she could revert to the old Farrah one day. However, Abraham reveals that her future looks very bright. So, she will continue working and improving her mental health.
