Nikolas Cassadine

Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) is General Hospital royalty from the start. Born in 1983, the dark prince is the son of Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) and Stavros Cassadine (Robert Kelker-Kelly).

As a child, Laura was kept from Nikolas and only got to know her son as a teen when Tyler Christopher debuted in the role in 1996. He played the part through 2016 with two recast actors stepping in as Nikolas Cassadine now and then.

Although General Hospital tinkered with his birth year here and there, his birth and age now align. Stefan Cassadine (Stephen Nichols) raised Nikolas Cassadine after Laura escaped the compound and left her son behind.

He came to Port Charles to donate bone marrow to save Lulu Spencer (now Emme Rylan). But, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) told Laura to shun Nikolas. That’s because he hated his father. Nik stayed close to his sister and grandma.

For many years, Nikolas Cassadine had a love-hate deal with his mother on General Hospital. He later bonded with his brother, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and romanced Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

In recent years, Nikolas turned dark and did many crimes. He ordered a hit on his wife, Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig). Then, he faked his death. After that ruse failed, it looked like he was dead for real, at the hands of his uncle Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

Now on General Hospital, Nikolas Cassadine is back with the Marcus Coloma recast. He married ex mob moll Ava Jerome (Maura West) and still dabbles in dark deeds.

Meanwhile, Nikolas remains estranged from his son with Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis), Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Bechtel). For now, it remains to be seen whether he’ll stay dark or be redeemed.
