General Hospital Updates: Nikolas Cassadine Temporary Recast
GH viewers reeled today when they saw Nikolas Cassadine with a different face. Currently, there’s no confirmation why the recast is necessary. However, there is chatter of a COVID breakout on-set. General Hospital fans may recall that Steve Burton, AKA, Jason Morgan, recently tested positive for the virus.
The actor alleged he was exposed on the set. And that might be why Jason leaves town with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) soon. This part of Jason’s storyline could be to explain the actor’s quarantine. So, that could be the reason for Marcus Coloma’s absence also. Was Coloma exposed and forced to take time off the General Hospital set too?
However, Marcus Coloma’s not yet revealed why he needed time off from General Hospital. So, it could also be for a different reason. But, whatever the reason, it doesn’t appear to be a long-term exit for Marcus as Nikolas Cassadine. And he should be back on the GH canvas soon.
Adam Huss as New Nik on GH
General Hospital ins and outs report that on September 29, Nikolas Cassadine swapped to a new actor. It’s daytime alum Adam Huss. The actor recently stated that he gets the opportunity to portray Nikolas “for a moment,” and he promises “juicy stuff” ahead. So far, it looks like the recast was short-term, and Adam may only appear for a few days.
Adam may look familiar from his time on Bold and the Beautiful playing Lance opposite Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). And he is also a former Passions actor in a smaller role. In addition, fans may remember Adam for his roles on prime-time TV in shows such as Power and NCIS: Los Angeles.
He is ecstatic to play Nikolas Cassadine and work with Maura West, AKA, Ava Jerome, and GH vet Kin Shriner, AKA, Scott Baldwin. There is plenty of drama ahead for Nikolas on General Hospital. So, the opportunity comes at a great time for Adam. Fans ask why Marcus Coloma is gone though.
