‘Sister Wives’: Meri Brown Shunned by Family Again – Picks up the Pieces

Sister Wives star Meri Brown has the fans of her TLC show upset for her today after they picked up something from her latest communications. The sudden death of Meri’s mom left her mourning not only the loss of her mother but also the loss of her good friend. At the time she didn’t know what the future held for her Bed & Breakfast establishment, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn.

Sister Wives: Meri Brown Ignored?

Meri’s mom, Bonnie Ahlstrom, was only 76. Her death was sudden and unexpected. So, Meri Brown went through a lot in the last few months. Since Bonnie was the heartbeat of Lizzie’s, the original Sister Wives matriarch wasn’t sure if she could do it without her.

After shutting the doors for a while, Meri recently spent some time getting the B&B back up and running. That’s a lot of work for one person. While her daughter Mariah Brown and the woman she plans to marry, Audrey Kriss, came to her aid, no one else in the family did.

Or at least that’s what the fans got out of all Meri’s online communications regarding getting the B&B back up and running. Reportedly Audrey’s sisters came to help as well. But from Meri’s posts, it seems no one from her Sister Wives family came to help.

Fans Describe Their Sadness

Sister Wives fans saw this as very sad. The perks of living a polygamous lifestyle should let Meri have all the help she needed. Not just from her shared husband and her co-wives, but the older kids as well.

But the fans who follow Meri don’t see any evidence of help except for Mariah, Audrey, and Audrey’s sisters. This really upset the people who favor Meri Brown on the Sister Wives show. Even people who admit they don’t care much for the first bride of Kody Brown, seem to share their sadness over the lack of support from her family.

Sister Wives: Wide Spread Among The Family

To be fair to the Brown brood, they may have helped Meri Brown through this hard time. They very well might have dropped into Lizzie’s Heritage Inn to offer a hand.

If they did, Meri didn’t mention anything. So, fans assume she pretty much did this without any other help from the big Sister Wives tribe all except for Mariah Brown and Audrey.

Maybe that’s all the help she needed. But it still upsets the fans that Meri wasn’t surrounded by her huge family. Again, you would think at times like these, polygamy would be a huge perk with lots of helping hands.

It Was A Private Affair

It stirred up quite the controversy within her family when Meri purchased the property for this future bed & breakfast. For many of the Sister Wives fans, it looked like Kody Brown set Meri up for failure. But she survived flying solo with a grand round of applause from the audience.

Of course, this impression of a setup for failure might have been spun via editing. But it sure looked as if he didn’t want her to get it. Meri asked to borrow the down payment for the property. Kody agreed to loan her the money out of the household funds, which she contributes to.

But he backed out as the closing time drew near. When it looked as if Meri Brown lost her dream, she counted on the one person she could… herself.  Meri went into the financial institution and made a deal for a lower down payment.  She got the property all on her own.

Once she broke the news to her Sister Wives spouses they seemed stunned. Then the adults in her Sister Wives family wanted a part of it but Meri said no, it was her dream and she was going for it. So, maybe animosity runs deeper than it appeared on the screen.

Why Meri Brown didn’t have her huge family around her as she reopened Lizzie’s Heritage Inn is unknown. Maybe she did have some help that she didn’t mention. Either way, fans saw this as a rather sad affair for the first lady of the Sister Wives series from the TLC network.
