‘Sister Wives’: Cut-Rate Kody Brown At It Again – New Survival Plan?

Sister Wives star Kody Brown did odd things in the past to survive, like turning himself into a bargain, and now it seems he’s at it again. Through the years of Sister Wives seasons, money woes seemed to be the ongoing theme for him. So his latest money-for-hire ploy seems to fall right into line with the mindset of Kody Brown when it comes to finances.

Sister Wives: Kody Brown Set Goal Too High?

Some fans might say the Sister Wives patriarch falls under a specialized category. Some see him as a guy who believes “he’s a legend in his own mind”. Well, it looks like he thought he’d be a bit more popular when he signed on for a new gig.

It seems a lot of the reality stars gravitate towards Cameo videos lately. This business has them make a quick personal clip for a fan and get paid for it.

Whether it’s a birthday wish, anniversary wish, or just a shoutout, fans can request a personalized video from their favorite star. Now with the Sister Wives’ husband of four signed up, he too will offer a shoutout for a price.

Sister Wives: Kody Brown

Once a celebrity is signed on for this you can request the type of video you want. Then the celeb sits in front of a camera with the info you’ve given them and creates a one-of-a-kind clip just for you.

But it looks like business is slow for Kody Brown, the well-known Sister Wives’ father of 18. So, it seems that he’s already put himself on sale.

Polygamous Family Affair – Papa Lagged Behind

Two of Kody’s brides have done this for a while. Both Christine Brown and her co-wife Janelle Brown offer this service. They joined Cameo and have done quite a few videos for fans. But Kody Brown claims he couldn’t do it up until recently.

That’s because he couldn’t find a quiet place without interruptions to do so. But considering he does some of these videos in his Sister Wives sports car as he drives, well… that kind of blows that theory out of the water.

Maybe he recently realized money is very tight and decided to give this a go. So with his “Peace Out” motto, along with the two-finger peace sign, he’s “peacing out” to anyone who pays.

Sister Wives: Sluggish Sales Mean Cut-Rite Prices?

Both Janelle Brown and Christine Brown from the Sister Wives series asked $35 per video, which seemed fairly reasonable. But Kody Brown burst onto the Sister Wives Cameo scene asking $79 per video, more than double what his wives charge.

Maybe things got tougher than usual with fiancés because their prices recently changed. Or it’s possible that the three spouses felt like giving their fans a break. Either way, it seems all three dropped their prices.

They also have a ticket with the word “Deal” hanging over their heads on the site. Both wives now as $27 per video and Kody Brown knocked it down to $60. This still keeps his fees more than double of what his wives ask.

What does that say about Kody? It seems to suggest that he feels he’s worth more in a video than Janelle or Christine. It looks like he thinks his time, face, voice, and what he has to say is worth more than his Sister Wives ladies.

Salesman Mode Returns

Kody seems to be the master at finagling fees. Sister Wives fans might remember how TLC put the show on the chopping block after Season 11. But Kody got on his haggling hat and went to work.

Back then the five Sister Wives adults were each paid a salary of $180,000 per season. That is just a little under $1 million when you add the five salaries together.

But instead of canceling the show, reports indicate Kody went to the powers who be at the Sister Wives series. He offered a drastic pay cut in exchange for TLC to keep the entire Sister Wives brood on the air. Instead of the $180,000 each, Kody offered for all five to take just one salary of $180,000.

Apparently, they went for it because soon Sister Wives was renewed with a Season 12 and beyond. But most likely their salaries increased after that huge pay cut season. But Kody Brown tends to keep his family’s earnings under wraps, so you can only surmise they make more now.

For a quick look at a possible foundation for their money problems, check out the video above. It seems everyone shoots out ideas but no one wants to put in the time. Maybe they need to change that strategy.

Well, it worked for Kody Brown once. By cutting his fee, it awarded him a prolonged run with Sister Wives. So, it looks as if he used that strategy again but this time with his peace-out video messages for his paying fans.
