Steven Assanti is one of the most infamous cast members of the TLC show. He and his brother, Justin Assanti, both led super-sized lives. Steven was almost 800 pounds at the time he was on the show. His love of pizza played a huge part in his weight gain and his struggles to get healthy.
The pizza wasn’t the only thing contributing to his hardships. Dr. Younan Nowzaradan says with Steven as his patient, one of the hardest things to get past was trust issues. The My 600-lb Life physician says his patient complained of leg pain. But it was to get pain medicine. And Dr. Now said his patient had a painkiller addiction. Steven even went to rehab to get helps with his addiction. But has his life changed for the better?
TLC Star Turned His Life Around – Dropped 300 Lbs
My 600-lb Life’s Steven Assanti went from almost 800 pounds to a radical life change. He lived with his dad and brother. Then, after weight loss surgery, he was able to live on his own. He moved to Houston, Texas, to be closer to Dr. Nowzaradan after his surgery. Steven dropped weight and said he is in the mid 500’s now. After a few years, he cut off his family. And he stopped checking in with Dr. Now.

Later, he met a woman online and they married. Her name is Stephanie Sanger. But many fans did not believe that the couple was actually in love. She disputed their critics and kissed him while live on social so all could see. Then, Steven went silent on social, for quite some time. But, he recently revealed what is going on in his life at Christmas. And it’s not good.

Steven Assanti is spending his holiday season holiday season in not the merriest of situations. TheMy 600-lb Life alum revealed he’s hospitalized. And he’s suffering with COVID-19 and pneumonia. He has been in the hospital for a week. And it’s unsure when they’ll release him. Steven said while stuck sick in bed away from home, he misses his cat, Cupcake.
Steven hopes that he will get out of the hospital soon. That way, he can give Cupcake the presents he got her. He also said people should, “kick COVID and its variants in the a**.” Steven Assanti said he appreciates prayers from his followers at this time. He also encouraged people to get the jab and stay safe.
