Lacey Buckingham — Sad Story on My 600-Lb Life Season 10, Episode 5

Lacey B’s story on the TLC show started out like most episodes. Some person is struggling with excessive weight and hopes Dr. Now can help them with life-changing surgery.

While the outcome of this episode wasn’t positive, many fans agreed it was their favorite episode, aside from that of Steven Assanti. However, it started out very depressing as viewers heard her story.

Raped when she was young, Lacey revealed on My 600-Lb Life that her parents didn’t believe her. When she went off to college, she ate her feelings and ballooned to 500 pounds.

She couldn’t hold down a job because of her size and relied on her parents. Then, like several other women seen on the TLC show, Lacey Buckingham fell into “feeder” relationships.

If you haven’t heard, those are when men pay, or financially support, a woman in exchange for photos or videos of her eating. Another alum of the show, Samantha Mason, makes her living as “The Vanilla Hippo” doing the same.

But Lacey broke out of this bad situation and found a boyfriend, later a fiance, named Ricky. He was loving and supportive and appeared with her on the TLC show, along with his sister Sharon Gilmore.

And as usual, the plan is for the episode’s cast member to move to Houston, Texas to help stick to the diet program. Back in Kennewick, Washington, Lacey Buckingham packed her apartment and Sharon drove her and Ricky to TX.

On the way, Sharon chewed her out and called her “ugly” on the show. That threw chaos into things with Ricky who dumped her on the drive. Then at a roadside stop, a blistering fight had Lacey scared.

Towards the end of My 600-Lb Life, Lacey was back living on her own in Washington state. She said she wanted to lose weight but was turned down by Dr. Now for surgery for her lack of progress.

However, Lacey Buckingham was determined to get her life back on track, despite the setbacks on her episode of the TLC series.
