Michael Vows to Destroy Sonny Corinthos on ‘General Hospital’
Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) wants Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) out of his life on General Hospital. And he’s determined to take the kingpin down on GH. But, if he topples the don’s empire, it could cause chaos on the ABC sudsfest.
General Hospital: Michael Corinthos Walks Away From His Father
Recently, on GH, Michael Corinthos chose to kick his father out of his life. He feels that Sonny chose Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) over the entire family. More importantly, he betrayed Michael’s mom Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
Now, he says he doesn’t know who Sonny is anymore. He used to be someone who would do anything for his family and put them first, no matter the cost. Moreover, the legacy mobster never let anyone get away with hurting his family.

So, now, Michael feels that he is breaking his code of honor. The kingpin’s time in Nixon Falls did change him. And this new version of the legacy character is someone that his son doesn’t like.
He even went as far as to say that Sonny disgraced the Corinthos name, recall General Hospital recaps. And now, he plans to do whatever it takes to erase his father’s connection to the name Corinthos.
When people hear that name, Michael wants them to think of him — not Sonny. So, now he might be the mobster’s biggest threat. Especially, after he vowed to tear down his dad.
Sonny Corinthos Gains a New Enemy on GH
Sonny Corinthos has his hands full on General Hospital as he faces threats from all angles. Currently, the mob violence is growing more intense as his rivals push their limits.
Plus, there’s the threat from out West. That’s most likely linked to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). So, Sonny is working overtime to reassert himself as the head of his territory.
However, now that Michael has turned on him, he has even more problems. Michael wants to tear down Sonny’s corrupt empire and remove the “stain” from the Corinthos name.
So, Michael doesn’t just want to cut ties with his dad — he wants to dismantle his mob business. However, if he succeeds, he might pave the way for Cyrus and other mobsters to take over on General Hospital.
And this may put his mom and siblings at risk. Also, putting himself in the middle of the mob drama could bring danger to Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen).
And also to their son Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver). Indeed, Willow already sees the potential for danger. And she urges her man to watch his step.
Michael Destined to End up like Sonny on General Hospital?
Recently, Willow warned Michael to be cautious about how far he goes to take his father down. If he’s not careful, he could end up as dark and ruthless as his dad. Then, he would become the very thing he’s trying to protect Wiley from.
Of course, Willow will stand behind her man and support him no matter what. But, she does not want him to turn into Sonny. If he wages war on his mob-boss father, there is no going back, and the fallout will be massive on GH.
