Married At First Sight: Zack Freeman Doesn’t Like Confrontation

Married at First Sight’s Zack Freeman told fans of the Lifetime experiment that he doesn’t like sudden outbursts of emotion. He and Michaela got a rough start to their marriage with an enforced separation due to his COVID-19 diagnosis. By the time he recovered, the honeymoon was over, and they moved into their new apartment.

But shortly after moving in, they had their first argument. Zack Freeman said he fell asleep in the other room and woke up early the next day to take his dog to the groomer. He left without waking his wife up because he’d been told she didn’t like that. But when she got up and couldn’t find him, she slammed things around and left the Married at First Sight apartment.

Later, after meeting with Married at First Sight expert Pastor Cal Roberson, they talked things over, and Zack thought it was done. But then Michaela called him about an hour after that and said she was canceling their housewarming with their friends. He said the rash decisions and unnecessary behaviors are concerning to him.

MAFS: Reconciliation Seems Improbable

After the Married at First Sight meet and greet with their friends, Zack Freeman had a serious talk with Michaela. He told her he got a lot of insight into her ways of handling conflict. Michaela admitted in her previous relationships, she tended to overreact, and she shouldn’t have done that with Zack.

Zack told his new spouse that he saw her behavior, and it made him think this marriage was a repeat of his past relationships that didn’t work out. He said he didn’t understand how it reached the point that she acted the way she did. Especially since they talked about that behavior and she said she hated it.

He said it’s not a communication thing, it’s how they handle problems. Zack Freeman said their views are so far apart, he can’t see how they can resolve it. He sees a fundamental difference in how they handle certain things. He wants to take some time to figure out the answers.

Married at First Sight: Emotional Chasm too Big for Zack to Handle

Married at First Sight’s Zack said the thought of attending the housewarming after their fight and her attempt to cancel gave him anxiety. He said he was more nervous than their MAFS wedding day. His comments brought Michaela Clark nearly to tears. She said she didn’t know canceling the gathering would affect him the way it did.

Michaela acknowledged she’s not right, and he’s not wrong, but she’s sorry for her actions. She asked how long it would take for them to be right with each other again. But Zack had no answers for her. He feels they need to take a step back from each other on Married at First Sight.

Zack told his wife he didn’t want to stay in the apartment, saying it made him anxious and uncomfortable to be in a situation he didn’t want to be in. He told fans of the Lifetime show, Married at First Sight, he is heartbroken because he wanted this all his life. But he’s not happy with where they are.
