‘Married at First Sight’: Johnny Lam Wanted a Spouse Swap

Married at First Sight star Johnny Lam said he wished Lifetime did a spouse swap. He said he thought some of the spouses were better for others and seemed to think he could do a better job than the MAFS experts.

Johnny Lam said going to the reunion for Married at First Sight put him in a bad space. He said, “Whatever Bao Huong Hoang did to break me down – it worked.” Bao said, “Wow. I can’t believe you’re saying I did things on purpose to break you down.”

Johnny had a solution to his Married at First Sight woes – a spouse swap. He said he heard they did this in Australia and seemed to think it would be a good idea. He said, “I wouldn’t have minded Myrla Feria – or even Rachel Gordillo,” Soap Dirt recalls.

The other couples seemed a little nervous, but Bao said, “I even think me and Zach Freeman would have been an okay match.” This leads fans to think that Johnny had his eye on Myrla for a while, and one fan even joked that he was her “side piece.”

On the Married at First Sight reunion, Johnny Lam told everyone that he and Myrla “get each other.” He said he spends a lot of time with her and Rachel. It seems like he is more than happy to make all the other husbands on the show upset.

When they went to the couples getaway, Rachel Gordillo slipped and said, “They’re not officially a couple.” But she was still glad they were there together, so it could be like a double date. These two couples/non-couples seemed to have a good time hanging out.

Viewers of Married at First Sight said it was terrible to see how they flirted in front of Gil Cuero at the reunion. He sat there heartbroken, and they looked like they couldn’t be happier. Whatever the case, viewers said they deserve each other and that they are terrible.

Married at First Sight: Providing Their Type

The experts keep saying they don’t want to put people together with their “type.” In fact, they said dating their type repeatedly is likely why their relationships continue to fail. Even so, it seems like continuing to ignore people’s types keeps causing divorce as well.

Some people even think that Johnny might have a point. And think they should allow for a spouse swap throughout the filming of Married at First Sight. Other viewers said that goes against the whole thought of making the marriage work and being committed to each other.

Johnny Lam said he never wanted to deal with his wife again. And Myrla Feria said she did not like Bao during an episode of Unfiltered.
