‘Married at First Sight’: Jamie Otis Gets the Boot – Who’s Next to Host Unfiltered?
Married at First Sight celebrity Jamie Otis has been the host of MAFS Unfiltered since 2016. But now Lifetime decided to make a change so she won’t host any more episodes moving forward.
Married at First Sight: Jamie Otis No Longer on Unfiltered
Beginning in 2016, Jamie Otis met and chatted with MAFS cast members to get the behind-the-scenes raw truth. Many Married at First Sight cast liked to come on the show and set things straight. Jamie didn’t mince words or hide how she felt when she was host — and not everyone liked that.
Jamie commented that she would no longer be on the Married at First Sight show. However, said she felt happy about this and was ready to let it go. She went on to say that she felt grateful for everything that took place. So, what’s next for the ex-MAFS after-show host?
She said she would normally be rushing out to find something to wear and flying to LA, as Soap Dirt remembers. But now, she said she didn’t have to go anywhere, and she felt glad about that. Whatever the case, viewers of Married at First Sight didn’t completely buy it. Many piled on with snarky comments about Jamie Otis and her exit.
MAFS Fans Call Jamie Fake
Even though Jamie Otis said she felt good about no longer being on the show, fans didn’t think she was totally truthful. She revealed the update to Married at First Sight watchers while out with her kids. Jamie also said that she would be back on television at some point.
And of course, she does have some enthusiastic fans from Married at First Sight. However, there were plenty of vocal critics who wanted her off Unfiltered. Now, those people are already throwing out their wish list of possible candidates to be the next host on the MAFS spinoff. Viewers said they want someone that can ask questions without reading the teleprompter.
Now, it seems like the exit news was sudden, and Jamie Otis had no idea it was coming. You may recall Jamie said a while back that she and her husband, Doug Hehner, were having marriage problems – but they are pushing through. So, fans wonder if that has anything to do with her being pulled from Unfiltered.
Married at First Sight: Finding a Host Replacement
There were plenty of commenters saying they were glad Jamie wouldn’t be on the show anymore. Some even said it would be better for her family if she didn’t continue to try to be in the spotlight.

The number one choice among those discussing replacements was Houston season husband Gil Cuero. Everyone wanted to see how he would deal with some of the hot button issues that come up on the show. Many were impressed by how he always kept such a level head. But viewers also don’t think the network would choose him.
Now, fans of Married at First Sight said they wanted to see some changes on not only Unfiltered but also the main Lifetime show. They said they are tired of the bad matches they’ve seen on the last three seasons. So, wait and see if any changes are made and we’ll break the news if there are.
