There’s no denying that Isabella and Tyler were hot right out of the gate on Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island. From their very first meeting, they both were captivated by one another. Even Dr. Jessica Griffin took note of their early spark. She did caution that they didn’t want to end up being a hot pan on a cold stove. Essentially, they need to be careful not to burn so hot in the beginning, only to find that they have nothing more than that initial spark. That’s the fundamental question for this MAFS: Honeymoon Island couple. Is it just a spark, or do they have what it takes to make this relationship burn over the long term?
That was the burning question heading into this week’s episode of Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island. It wasn’t until this week that Isabella and Tyler finally share their first kiss as a couple. There is an unsettling element underlying this significant milestone, though. It’s understandable that couples want to take their time with physical intimacy. By this point in the show they haven’t even known each other a week. Still, it seems Isabella McKenzie is all too eager to manipulate Tyler Moody into behaving exactly the way she wants.

Foreshadowing trouble on Honeymoon Island?
On Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island, Tyler Moody is completely mesmerized by Isabella McKenzie. So much so that he’s ignoring things that he should pay attention to. He’s got himself into a situation where he’s agreeable to a fault. It’s unclear whether he’s doing this knowingly or if he’s obliviously being pulled along for the ride. Tyler and Isabella were on fire early, but it’s looking more and more like she’s the flame and he’s merely a moth.
In this episode of Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island, Isabella McKenzie goes on to express her willingness to educate Tyler Moody. Tyler talks about how she wakes him up and makes him put the toilet seat down. In his mind, it’s some sort of twisted privilege.
He believes she is making him a better man. More like a trained house pet. Isabella McKenzie is also more than happy to “enlighten” Tyler when it comes to politics and the ways of the world. Tyler Moody sees this as a gift, but it looks more like a sheltered suburban girl trying to tame a dim-witted, uncivilized country boy. It comes across as condescending more than anything else.
Like a moth to MAFS: Honeymoon Island flame
It will be interesting to watch this couple progress on Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island. While there are clearly red flags to note as a viewer, Tyler Moody seems to find bliss in his ignorance. At some point the honeymoon phase will be over and the couple will have to see things as they truly are. Do Tyler and Isabella have more than their initial spark? It’s clear that each of them comes from a completely different background. In their case, we will have to wait and see whether or not opposites really do attract.
