Is Alyssa Ellman Trying to Gaslight ‘Married at First Sight’ Fans?

Alyssa Ellman said she “is a good person” on Married at First Sight. However, every time she thinks the MAFS cameras are off, she says some very nasty things. Lifetime viewers wonder if she is trying to gaslight them.

Alyssa Ellman Gaslighting on Married at First Sight?

Before she walked down the aisle on MAFS, Alyssa Ellman told her friends, “I hope he’s hot”. That was when they were hanging out before the wedding when she said it. She also said, “If he has snaggled teeth — it’s over.” Of course, the cameras showed the groom’s smile…

Despite production catching her saying these things, she keeps insisting, “I’m a nice person”. Fans said they weren’t sure she knew the definition of nice. Most of the time that Alyssa says these mean things, the main cameras aren’t on her. It was cameras she couldn’t see recording her.

Is she gaslighting Married at First Sight fans? When the main cameras run, she tries to smile and keep her cool. But, when production’s behind-the-scenes cameras catch her, she lets loose with f* bombs, and rage. It sure looks like she doesn’t know they taped her during this time.

Alyssa Refuses to Talk on MAFS Camera

Alyssa’s husband, Chris Collette, wanted to talk with her on camera. She wouldn’t talk to him or tell him anything he wanted to know. Alyssa Ellman kept saying they had already talked about it. But it’s clear that hasn’t happened based on his comments.

When Chris told her mother that Alyssa said that she only wanted to be friends — that didn’t go well. Alyssa Ellman said she told him that in confidence. And she said he was disrespectful to repeat it. But Chris Collette said he came on the show to find a wife — not to be on television.

Still, Alyssa insists that she also came on Married at First Sight to find a husband. And then she said they both got robbed, and the experts didn’t do them right. Chris said he felt like he got a driven woman just like he asked for. He seems to always be open to trying.

Looking Like a “Good Person” on Married at First Sight?

Fans said that a good person doesn’t have to tell people they’re good so much. Others said they felt like Alyssa Ellman was this season’s Chris Williams (i.e. someone maltreating their spouse). People felt like Chris did a lot of gaslighting and that this situation is similar.

Alyssa pouted that her mom said that Married at First Sight might make her look bad. Chris Collette spilled on the After Show some things her mom told him. He reports that Alyssa’s mother said her daughter would go off and cry. And that she’s fly off the handle when upset. That’s seen on MAFS too right?

Alyssa Ellman said, “I’m not happy,” after going to the beach with Chris. Fans said no one had to do any editing to make her look bad. Even one of the Married at First Sight producers said, “This is not single at first sight”.

She kept trying to get them to let her move into the apartment by herself. Chris Collette said he wanted to move in with her and make things work. She didn’t have any interest.

And Chris said that she told him in private that she wanted him to act like a husband when the cameras were on. Then, she raged at production and said they better not make her look bad.

So, that points to her playing one way on cameras and another off. And that sounds like a bit of gaslighting for the fans.
