‘General Hospital’ Shocker: Victor Cassadine Exits – Will He Escape or Die Trying?
General Hospital actor Charles Shaughnessy revealed the shocking truth that Victor Cassadine‘s leaving the ABC soap — and soon! If you were expecting his reign of terror to continue, it seems like it’s all about to be over, at least according to the actor playing the villain on GH.
Charles Shaughnessy Confirms Victor Cassadine’s General Hospital Exit
Victor Cassadine actor Charles Shaughnessy dropped the exit tidbit in response to an accolade about his acting work on GH. And in doing so, it seems he leaked the info that the Cassadine villain is already done at the soap opera.
He said he was grateful for the “fun, meaty role” and said that GH writers are “giving Victor one of the greatest villain send offs”. Shaughnessy didn’t leak his exit date, but we’re expecting the climax of all this to come for May sweeps.
That kicks off in two weeks on April 28, 2023. There still seems some plot to play out on GH for the bad guy. Now, he’s got Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) hostage along with his great nephew Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and little baby Ace Cassadine.
You may also remember that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) is a stowaway on the Haunted Star as well. Plus, Victor just did this villain monologue where he revealed he’s going to use a pathogen to kill off a huge swath of people to try and help the world.
Did General Hospital writers lift this plot straight from The Avengers: Infinity War movie? Vic’s acting just like Thanos. If you didn’t see it, Thanos killed off half the population of the world with a snap of his fingers.

Trina & Spencer Aim to Hobble the Haunted Star – GH Spoilers
Right now, Victor Cassadine feels like he’s in control of his own destiny. He has this plan for the whole world and he’s got the people that he wants to keep safe with him on the yacht. But he doesn’t know that Trina is there conspiring with Spencer to stop him.
“Sprina” comes up with a plan on General Hospital to mess with the engines on the yacht to slow or stop its progress on the path to Venezuela. They hope that will buy some time for someone to find and rescue all of them.
Upcoming GH spoilers for the week confirm that Trina succeeds in making trouble in the engine room. Although, she might be busted in the attempt because it seems inevitable that Cassadine goons will grab her.
But if she did her job right then they could be slowed down to the point that rescuers could find them. Later next week, Spencer’s Uncle Vic is furious to learn that his plans were thwarted.
Victor Leaves in Handcuffs, Body Bag or Escapes on General Hospital?
The big question, now that Charles Shaughnessy confirmed his exit, is — how will Victor go out? No doubt, there’s plenty of people in Port Charles who would gleefully put a bullet in the man. His son Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) would be first in line.
As the yacht slows in its path to Venezuela, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) run into each other there. It seems Holly was there trying to find her son Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons). And Felicia’s chasing a hunch she had.
So, it could be that these two ladies also plan to end his life on General Hospital. The big question is will the authorities arrest him and haul him away? Or will one of his many enemies put a bullet in him?
Surely, Liesl would be happy to do that. But the most frustrating outcome would be for Victor Cassadine to make an epic escape so he can come back one day to wreak havoc. So we’ll just have to wait and see but we expect his exit in May sweeps for the ABC soap.
