5 Huge ‘General Hospital’ Plot Rumors – Twists for Sonny, Sam, Liz & Recasts
General Hospital spoilers and rumors promise twists ahead for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and others. Here is a rumor round-up of the most intriguing chatter about the ABC soap.
#1 GH Rumor – Baby Lila survived – Huge Sonny Corinthos & Sam McCall
There’s a big old whopper of a rumor circulating online about a child that was long presumed dead. The talk is that Sonny Corinthos gets a shock, as does Sam McCall, if their daughter Lila McCall survived.
18 years ago, Sam suffered a stillborn pregnancy. She carried Sonny’s daughter back then on General Hospital. Sonny left Sam to go back to Carly. And Sonny’s bestie Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) planned to marry Sam.
Then, Sonny Corinthos’ little girl died after a placental rupture and stillbirth. But only Jason got to hold her. So, could they bring back Sam and Sonny’s baby as a young woman? Sure they could. It’s a soap after all. But what would be the point?
This doesn’t make sense as the cast of General Hospital doesn’t need more people added to it. But as we rounded up compelling rumors, we couldn’t ignore this one.
#2 General Hospital Spoiler? Liz Webber Insanity Gives Nina Unexpected Leverage
There’s a lot of talk online about what’s wrong with Liz Webber and whether she’s haunted or crazy. The latest GH episodes point to Liz having a mental health crisis. Remember, she’s been in Shadybrook before on the ABC soap.
Now that she’s been found holding scissors and hacking up things, Liz wondered if she’d burned down Franco’s (Roger Howarth) studio too. Liz likely sees herself as a threat to herself and others on General Hospital.
So, she may surrender to a psychiatric stay for evaluation and treatment. If so, then Liz Webber needs to sign some papers about her minor children while she’s in treatment.
What’s the General Hospital rumor? It’s that Liz signs legal power of attorney to her trusted former father-in-law Scotty Baldwin (Ken Shriner). That includes Jake Webber’s (Hudson West) ELQ rights inherited from his dad that Elizabeth Webber holds.
Given that Scotty is close to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and her lawyer, he could interfere at ELQ to punish Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) for trying to cut Nina out of her grandson’s life. It’s a convoluted rumor but interesting and foreseeable.
#3 GH Recast Chatter – Dillon Quartermaine Returns
Another tidbit floating around related to General Hospital casting. This one says that Dillon Quartermaine might return. Some hope that he might be the role played by newcomer Josh Kelly.
However, the spoilers about Josh’s character don’t align with what we’d expect from a recast of Dillon Q. The new guy played by Josh is supposed to interact with Sam McCall, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
Yet bringing another Quartermaine to town could certainly be interesting. It’s always nice to beef up legacy General Hospital families. The last Dillon portrayer, Robert Palmer Watkins, is a busy guy so he seems unlikely to return if the rumor pans out.
But they could always recast him. And of course, it could be Josh Kelly in the role and the spoilers are deliberately misleading. There’s always that. Would you like to see Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) son return?

#4 Jason Morgan Recast Ahead on General Hospital?
Another big topic of rumor-mongering about General Hospital is whether Jason Morgan will be back. Some fans really want Burton back while others do not.
And some wonder whether Josh Kelly is recast Stone Cold. Naysayers mention that there’s a decade age disparity between Drew (Cameron Mathison) and the new GH actor. Yet they’d be playing twins.
But remember, when they brought back Burton to General Hospital, he was a decade older than Billy Miller who was then playing Jason’s twin Drew. So, don’t get hung up on the age difference.
Kelly as Jason, given the new character spoilers, make sense. If he were playing nu-Jason, then him interacting with Sam, Dante, and Britt all align. Of all the GH rumors on our list, this one has legs. But we’ll see.
#5 GH Return Rumor: Lulu Spencer Wakes Up
One more persistent General Hospital rumor is that Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) wakes up soon. Of course, that would throw a kink in the love brewing between Sam and Dante.
And of course, many fans would love to see Emme back on set. She had great interactions with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) as co-parents.
Plus, there’s Lulu’s dynamic with Emme’s real-life bestie Kirsten Storms, aka Maxie Jones. It really crushed fans when they abruptly wrote out Emme as Lulu. As of now, Ms. Rylan’s not on another project so… Maybe!
