‘Deadliest Catch’: Captain Keith Colburn Is Hospitalized with COVID-19

Deadliest Catch star Captain Keith Colburn is in the hospital with COVID-19. What’s his prognosis? Will he make a full recovery?

Deadliest Catch: Captain Keith Colburn Is in the Hospital

While in the hospital, Keith Colburn announces he has COVID. He explains it had been 20 days of him having the virus. While he said he was able to do the 10-day quarantine fine without any medication, he, unfortunately, did have to go to the hospital.

Even though the virus is out of his system, he’s in the hospital battling the after effects. He explains he got pneumonia from the virus and was having difficulty breathing. So far, he has been in the hospital for eight days.

From here, Captain Keith tells his fans to get the vaccine. He explains getting the shot is better than suffering from the virus for 20 days, not being able to breathe, and being in the hospital.

Keith Colburn Isn’t the Only Cast Member Who Got COVID

Captain Keith Colburn isn’t the only Deadliest Catch star who got the virus. Andy Hillstrand also got COVID. It prevented him from returning to the show. Jonathan Hillstrand had to temporarily get Josh Harris to fill in as the Time Bandit’s relief captain.

In the first episode of season 17, we also saw a scare happen with Nick McGlashan. Nick was sick in his bunk and had to get a COVID test. Fortunately, his results were negative, but it still scared his crew members and prevented them from catching crabs that day.

Deadliest Catch: ‘COVID Is Real’

When talking to his fans, Captain Keith Colburn emphasizes that “COVID is real.” He’s stating this because of those who believe this is a hoax and for those who are hesitant about getting the vaccine. He’s in the hospital, battling pneumonia and having difficulty breathing.

Fortunately, Keith has received support from the fans. Many of them wished him well. Keith had fans from all around the world reaching out to him and hoping he’s safe and has a full recovery.

Some stated they were getting the vaccine or have gotten the shot. Others have even said they lost family members and loved ones due to the virus. Some fans have even said they’re also in the hospital with COVID and deeply regretted not getting the vaccine.

Keith Colburn will need the fan’s support more than ever. And with the season 17 premiere of Deadliest Catch right around the corner, fans are more than eager to see their favorite captain in good health and doing what he loves most — spending his days out on sea catching crab, not in a hospital bed.
