Days of Our Lives comings and goings reveal Melissa Reeves is back as Jennifer Horton. The latest reports indicate Jennifer makes her way back to her husband, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) in December. Remember, she’s been gone sorting out her mother’s estate and her daughter, Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller), took refuge there to deal with her problems. So, there’s bound to be big drama for the family holiday on the NBC soap.

DOOL comings and goings show Jennifer Horton hits Salem this December. It seems Missy Reeves recently confirmed her return as Jennifer Horton chatting with a fan at an event. It’s been quite a while since Melissa was on-screen as Jennifer at Days of Our Lives. She last appeared in October 2020 and was recast with soap veteran Cady McClain.
If you don’t know, Days of Our Lives actress Melissa Reeves lives in Tennessee with her husband, fellow soap veteran Scott Reeves. With pandemic restrictions, and a grandchild on the way, Missy said it was best to stay home and stop the travel hassles of commuting for the soap. Now, with things easing, Reeves is back as Jennifer Horton.

When we last saw Jennifer Horton on Days of Our Lives, she was grieving the sudden death of her mother, Dr. Laura Horton (Jaime Lyn Bauer). Recaps show Laura died after a confrontation with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien). But Gwen, Jennifer’s stepdaughter, was cleared of any criminal charges surrounding this death. It turned out Laura was the one who’d kept Jack and Gwen apart all those years.
Plus, after Jennifer Horton left town to deal with her mother’s estate on Days of Our Lives, Abigail Deveraux was going through turmoil with her new sister. Recall, Gwen had a brief fling with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) resulting in pregnancy. Then, Gwen misarried and blamed it on Jennifer’s daughter. Now, Jennifer Horton’s watching over Abby while she and Chad are on the outs on Days of Our Lives. Will she see any progress towards reconciliation when she comes home to Salem in a few months?
Will Jen’s Stepdaughter Come Clean & Straighten Up Before DOOL Homecoming?
Days of Our Lives’s schemer Gwen is definitely the black sheep of the Deveraux family. Recall, not only has she messed with Chad and Abby’s lives, but she also tried to break up Jack and Jennifer Horton. DOOL recaps show while Jennifer was in a year-long coma, Jack slipped up and had a roll in the hay with Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Gwen found a letter about it and made sure Abby got drunk and spilled it.
All that came out on Days of our Lives at Jennifer Horton’s anniversary party. So, Gwen did not make a very good impression on her stepmom from the get-go once Jennifer found out the naughty nanny was fooling the family. Still, Jack wants to get to know his new-found daughter. And he always wants Jennifer Horton to accept her.

Since then, Gwen lied about the timing of her miscarriage and blamed Abby for the fall on Days of Our Lives. Already, she came clean to Jack about not being pushed after all. However, Gwen still hasn’t told dear old dad about losing the unborn baby prior to the stair stumble on DOOL. However, things could change by the time Jennifer Horton gets back home.
Also, on Days of our Lives, Jennifer’s new stepkid is getting involved with ne’er do-well Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). They even dealt with the corpse of dope-dealing Dr. Snyder (Michael Lowry) together. DOOL updates hint more action for Gwen and Xander. So will Jennifer’s stepdaughter be in love and dodging jail time when Melissa Reeves is back on the canvas as Jennifer? There’s lots of drama there.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Will Mother Help Abigail Get a Happier Christmas with Her Man?
DOOL spoilers divulge Chad gets another chance with Abigail soon. Before Abby took off to be with her mom and clear her head, the couple sought therapy. They tried to repair the damage done by Gwen on Days of Our Lives. Even though they share two small children, Thomas and Charlotte, Abigail had to leave everyone behind to work on her mental health once again at her mom’s place.
But Jennifer Horton’s daughter, Abigail, will beat her back to Salem. Actress Marci Miller’s maternity leave is over and she’s back to work, according to reports. So, we’d look for Jennifer to follow Abby back to town. But the big question is whether Jenn’s girl will head right back to Chad’s arms or if they face more issues on Days of Our Lives.
That, of course, would make Jennifer happy on Days of Our Lives. Fans knows how much her daughter loves Chad. But, if Abby comes home and decides to go ahead with a divorce, Jennifer Horton may be sharing a home with her daughter and grandchildren again on DOOL. On the other hand, Abby has a sordid past with recast brother-in-law EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
With Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) kidnapped and gone, and Abigail’s marriage rocky, these two could hook up again. Chances are Jennifer may advise Abby to steer clear of the darker DiMera brother. The soap world is abuzz that Melissa Reeves is returning to play feisty investigative reporter turned mom and grandma Jennifer Horton. But, will Jen come back to a complete mess with Gwen and Abigail? Or will it be a happy Christmas for all? Anything is possible over the next few months on NBC’s daytime drama.
