‘Days of Our Lives’ Comings and Goings: Greg Vaughan Returns as Eric Brady And More
Days of Our Lives comings and goings report Greg Vaughan returns as Eric Brady this week. Plus, Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) comes home soon. Not to mention, an all-grown-up Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) arrives in town soon. Also, expect to see Chanel Dupree recast next week when Raven Bowens takes over for Precious Way. Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Eric Brady Back – Greg Vaughan Reprises Role
DOOL good guy Eric Brady has been gone for almost a year on a missionary trip to Africa. Eric’s wife, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), does her best to be supportive of his humanitarian efforts. However, when an off-screen Eric told Nicole he was extending his trip yet again, she went off the deep end. That’s when Nicole drunk and had a steamy one-night stand with the guy Eric despises most – Xander Cook (Paul Telfer).
Although Nicole immediately regretted it on Days of Our Lives, she couldn’t undo her roll in the hay. And to make things worse, Eric Brady’s snooping sister Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) spotted Nicole staggering around with Xander into the Salem Inn. Now, Sami’s trying to get the goods on her cheating sister-in-law to bust her out to Eric.

Plus, guilt-ridden Nicole saved a confessional email in drafts where she admitted the cheating. So, Eric Brady could find that. Plus, on Days of our Lives, Eric’s brother Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) walked in on Xander bickering with Nicole and now knows about the tryst. But, Brady vows he won’t tell Eric Brady. And Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) knows but won’t tell Eric.
However, Days of Our Lives updates show Eric Brady returns home to Nicole the week of July 12. The couple has a happy reunion, but Eric senses something is wrong. Meanwhile, Sami keeps digging for dirt on Eric’s spouse. Spoilers show Sami wheels and deals with Xander. With Eric Brady celebrating with Nicole at an anniversary party it seems the perfect time for this all to explode. That sets the stage for Eric’s exit…
DOOL Casting Update: Maggie Horton Comes Home
Days of our Lives comings and goings also bring Maggie Horton after a long hiatus. Recall, Maggie left to be with her very ill daughter Summer Townsend (Marie Wilson). She was out of town when one of her other adult children, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), was sneakily kidnapped and dumped on DiMera Island. Now, she’s back in the Kiriakis mansion once again.
Updates share that Maggie offers advice to someone. It could be to Sarah’s ex-fiance Xander. He may need the sage wisdom of his would-be mother-in-law. Next, Maggie could offer guidance to her stepson, Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson). He’s been running Titan Industries for his father on Days of Our Lives.
Plus, Maggie is an AA sponsor. DOOL spoilers share Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) struggles with his sobriety. The sober matriarch could help Lucas through his hard times soon. Whatever the case may be, Maggie will be back in Salem in a couple of weeks. The big question is whether she’ll try to contact Sarah and realize she’s MIA.
SORAS Johnny DiMera Coming Soon to Days of Our Lives
DOOL casting news hinted for months that Johnny DiMera would come to Salem to join his family. The sizzling summer promo shows Johnny and his twin sister Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) sharing a warm embrace. The twins are happy to be reunited once again – both stricken by SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) on the NBC daytime drama.
Recent spoilers point to Johnny popping up in August after Days of our Lives has its break for the Summer Olympics. And no doubt, Sami and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) are sure to be excited to welcome their son home. However, a tense situation may be waiting for Johnny. After all, his mother’s cheating is close to being discovered by EJ. DOOL viewers watch in anticipation as the drama ramps up.
Be that as it may, spoilers reveal his sister’s gal pal Chanel Dupree (recast Raven Bowens) catches his attention. There may be some sibling rivalry ahead on Days of Our Lives. Updates spill that Chanel admits to Allie she likes her more than just a best friend. Will Johnny DiMera and his twin fight over the affections of the cute baker? When Will Marci Miller Return as Abigail Deveraux on DOOL?
Soap sightings confirm Marci Miller was seen on the set of Days of Our Lives. She’s been enjoying life on maternity leave with her new baby daughter Willett James Matteson. Her character, Abigail Deveraux, left town to clear her head and deal with the fallout from Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) miscarriage.
Recall on DOOL, Gwen falsely accused Abby of pushing her down the staircase causing her to lose her child. Abigail will need to decide what to do with her cheating husband, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Plus, her sister claimed the lost baby was Chad’s. Does she still want to try to patch things up? Needless to say, things were rocky when she left Days of our Lives.

With tensions high with Chad, Abigail may decide just to move on. Days of our Lives writers could have her rekindle her one-time romance with EJ, especially since things don’t look so great for his marriage to Sami. We hope it’s a big splashy return for Abigail when she’s next on our screens. Expect her also post-Olympics, no doubt.
There are so many characters returning to Salem this Summer. Watch for the long-anticipated homecoming of fan-favorite Eric Brady. But, how long will he be on canvas? His wife’s affair with Eric Brady’s sworn enemy comes to light eventually. And that could easily send him away. So Greg Vaughan might be back for just a short arc to offer some closure on “Ericole”.
