90 Day Fiance: The Other Way – Holly Weeks’ South African Scarytale?

Holly Weeks and Wayne Cornish have made their 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way debut. Holly is a fairy-tale-obsessed 44-year-old Jehovah’s Witness living in Utah. She is preparing to move across the world to Johannesburg, South Africa to marry Wayne, a 40-year-old plumber and fellow Witness.

There are concerns for her safety in moving to South Africa due to the fact that Wayne’ s home has already been broken into three times. Holly feels that he is her Prince Charming and is willing to do what it takes to make her dreams come true. But will this reality fantasy quickly turn into a nightmare.

90 Day Fiance: Holly Weeks Shocks Fans With 5ft Of Rapunzel Hair

Holly Weeks showed off her shockingly long hair in the 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way Season 5 premier. She works as a barber for men by trade and her own hair is past her knees. She explained the reason behind her hair is due to her childhood fondness of princesses.

“Ever since I was little, I loved fairytales and Rapunzel was one of my favorites,” she shared. She revealed that if she were to guess the length of her hair from the top of her head, “it’s about 70 inches long.”

Holly says she gets a lot of negative attention and comments on it. “But I don’t want to look like everyone else,” said the beautician.

Holly and Wayne met on a Jehovah’s Witness dating site. Their meeting on the site was serendipitous, as Holly and Wayne discovered more than just a shared religious faith. The pair also were searching for a partner with similar values and unable to find someone close to home.

Holly considers herself a free spirit. She was raised in the Jehovah’s Witness fellowship by her mother and was homeschooled. Wayne has told her he doesn’t like American culture and could never leave his plumbing business and dad.

The Other Way: Wayne Cornish’s Scary Proposal

The couple decided that they must meet in person. Since Wayne wasn’t going to America, Holly made the trip to him. During her visit to South Africa, their love story moved as fast as a movie. Merely three days into her trip, Wayne surprised Holly with a proposal.

He proposed by fountain at what looked like a romantic scene.  However, her initial reaction was to run away, “I was so frightened — I don’t know if it was anxiety,” she said about why she fled. But Holly still said yes after “he chased after me.”

Since the couple had only been together a few days, Holly’s initial reaction to the engagement made perfect sense to fans. We then learn about her other marriages. Wayne will be husband number three.  Holly says she wasn’t compatible with her first ex-husband and ended the marriage after two months.

She had her second marriage annulled 12 hours after the nuptials. Maybe third time is a charm. Holly is very adamant when explaining to her friends and family that this time she is making the right choice.  “When I get to South Africa, I’m marrying Wayne in a week,” Says the 90 Day Fiance hopeful.

A Real Life Nightmare on TLC

The joy of their engagement was overshadowed by terror when Holly and Wayne’s house was robbed later that same day. Holly explained that in South Africa there is city-wide, mandated blackouts. Security systems don’t work during the blackouts.

Therefore, during this time, robberies run rampant. Wayne has had three other break-ins as well.  “They took everything,” she said, later adding, “I just remember thinking this is like the scariest place to live in the world.” Still, in two weeks, Holly moved to South Africa full time for love.

Most recently, Holly has posted some cryptic videos online. The 90 Day Fiance star updated fans in June 2023 with a video about what it’s like as an “American woman living in South Africa.”

It looks as though things have been far less than a dream come true for the American. “I’ve seen things you’ve only seen in your nightmares,” she lip-synced. While Holly Weeks seems to be smitten with her Beau, it appears she is very concern for her safety in his homeland.
