90 Day Fiance breaking news – Larissa Dos Santos Lima is arrested again – this time by ICE officials. This info comes from her best friend, Carmen, just as Larissa packed to leave Nevada and then move with boyfriend Eric Nichols to Colorado. Here’s what we know about the alleged arrest.
ICE Arrests Larissa Dos Santos Lima – Immigration Catches Up With 90 Day Fiance Star?
We reported not long ago that Larissa Lima was slated to be deported, based on information we got from an immigration case officer. Why? It’s because her ex-husband Colt Johnson withdrew his support for her K-1 petition. Without his support, Larissa had no legal grounds to be in the US.
However, it takes a while for USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) to process its backlog of cases. So, 90 Day Fiance‘s Larissa caught a break there. And COVID slowed down the process further. The estimated time from withdrawal of support to deportation is now about two years.
Colt filed his divorce case against his 90 Day Fiance wife in January 2019 and it was finalized in May 2019. Colt most likely he pulled her K-1 visa petition long before then. However, Larissa Lima has been on the radar of the local ICE office since they granted her the right to work while she awaited her hearing. But something clearly changed.
Work Permit in March – But Is Time Up in America for Colt’s Ex-Wife Already?
In March, Larissa announced she got her work permission which was not great timing since COVID shut down most businesses in Nevada. Some 90 Day Fiance fans might think permission to work meant she gets to stay in the US. Not so. Instead, it allows the person to support themselves while they wait for their hearing to come.
Since then, Larissa Lima spent her time doing follow-up 90 Day Fiance seasons with Eric Nichols, and getting plastic surgery. Then suddenly, according to her pal Carmen, ICE showed up to arrest Larissa today. We’ve seen before on Happily Ever After that Larissa feared arrest.
You might recall a scene on TLC’s 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After where Carmen drove Larissa to the immigration office. They’d ordered Larissa to report and she worried they’d arrest her. However, ICE didn’t detain her then. Then months later, Larissa received a permit to work. Now, though, something seems to have changed. Perhaps it’s her planned move.
90 Day Fiance: Did Larissa Lima’s Moving Plans Trigger Immigration Arrest?
No doubt, there’s an immigration officer assigned to Larissa’s case that keeps tabs on her. Yesterday, the 90 Day Fiance celeb posted a photo of herself next to a U-Haul truck as she was announcing her plan to move out of state with Eric. Did the move trigger the ICE arrest? Did she inform her case officer about her move?
Today, Carmen said ICE arrested Larissa as she was “about to leave their house and move to Colorado.” Then, Carmen said she and Eric have “no clue why” the feds arrested the TLC star. For now, if Carmen’s info is accurate (and why wouldn’t it be?), Colt’s ex wife is in ICE custody.
Update: ICE released Larissa from custody after a few hours. She is now on her way to Colorado with Eric. We will keep you informed as information comes in. For the record, she said the people at ICE “were nice.”
