Ashley Michelle and Manuel Velez don’t agree on how they spend their money. She enjoys spending cash on things that make her happy, like coffee. He is more of a saver and only spends money on necessities. He thinks his wife spends too much money when they could use it for other aspects of their lives.

The 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After cast members also send money to his family. However, she feels that they send too much. Yet, he thinks that they don’t send enough. He doesn’t understand how she could spend so much on her dog. But they can’t send more money to his family.
Manuel feels a lot of guilt about living in America and leaving his family in Ecuador. He has always been the one to provide for his family. But living in the States and not being able to work right away has made it challenging for him to help his family. It seems like Ashley may not even be in the position to help out her in-laws.
Manuel Finds Out about Ashley’s Debt
Ashley and Manuel join the cast of the new season of Happily Ever After. They have been husband and wife for almost a year. However, they are still dealing with the same issues. She has yet to meet his kids, which she finds suspicious. She feels that there are things he is still hiding from her and doesn’t want her to know.
However, the 90 Day Fiance cast member is also hiding something from her husband. She is dealing with money issues. They see a lawyer to talk about getting a postnuptial agreement. The lawyer tells them that in a marriage, they are entitled to half of each other’s savings and obligated to pay for half of each other’s debts.
The lawyer asks Ashley how much debt she has. She tells him, “About 100k.” Manuel finds that shocking. He asks his wife, “You have $100,000 debt?” He calls her “crazy.” He tells the lawyer, “I don’t have to pay any of that.”

Manuel Velez’s having to pay for Ashley Michelle’s debt didn’t sit well with fans. One person thinks that he “shouldn’t have to pay a cent.” Another person doesn’t think it’s fair that she didn’t tell him she is “on the cusp of bankruptcy.” A person also says that they are on his side and that there is no way he “should be paying that.”
