After Nate finds what he needs, he confronts Ashland. At first, he denies everything. Then he offers several reasons why the facts are wrong. Ash works to convince Nate that he is really ill. However, Ash’s demeanor changes quickly. He becomes hostile towards his friend.

As the heated exchange continues, Ashland Locke threatens his best man. He promises to destroy the surgeon’s career and life. Ash says he will have Nate’s medical license if he tells anyone the truth. However, Nate gives as good as he gets.

However, the big question remains. Does Nate Hasting tell the world about Ashland’s deception? He has a lot to lose. He used his hospital position to access Ash’s medical records. So, he could have trouble at the GCMH if the powers that be learn what he did.
But Nate appears determined to protect Victoria from any further harm. So, he may be willing to risk his career to make sure his ex-friend faces the consequences of his actions.
