‘Young and the Restless’: Missy Egan Says Chelsea’s ‘Very Threatened’ by Sally
Young and the Restless actress Melissa Claire Egan spilled some tea on Chelsea Newman and Sally Spectra that’s very exciting. Y&R fans anticipated big drama with Chelsea stirring the pot with her exes and rivals. And in a recent interview, Missy teased what to expect and what she’s so excited for Y&R viewers to see on CBS daytime.
Young and the Restless Comings & Goings: Chelsea Newman’s First Airdate Next Week
In a recent interview, Missy Egan talked about her comeback as Chelsea Newman and how excited she is to be back. One thing she said about her return is that she’s happy to be getting “glam” again after many months of sloppier costuming. Recall, she was in sweats for a long time and then only on video chat on Young and the Restless.
It almost seemed like Egan wasn’t really gone since she was name-dropped and popped up on Zoom for talks with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) on Young and the Restless. She mentioned that she didn’t have to worry much about hair, makeup and costumes. Then, she enjoyed time at home with her newborn son Caden Katrosar.
However, that didn’t mean a total Young and the Restless blackout. First, she took time to watch some Y&R episodes. Second, some of her co-stars dropped by to visit. Joshua Morrow, who plays Chelsea Newman’s ex, Nick Newman, came by to see her. Plus, Josh’s wife designed Caden’s nursery. And of course, Elizabeth Hendrickson stopped by to visit.
Since returning to Young and the Restless, she’s gotten to know Sally Spectra actress Courtney Hope. Recall, Hope’s also had some big life changes recently as a newlywed. Egan’s bonded off-set with her new scene partner, lunching with her and Hendrickson. Plus, they posted a Charlie’s Angels style pic to amp up viewers for what’s to come.

In her Soap Digest interview, Missy also talked about what’s gone on with her character while Chelsea was away helping care for Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach). She told the magazine that Chelsea “is changed” on Young and the Restless. And she said the schemer worked on herself while gone from Genoa City.
It seems Chelsea Newman knows she was “a little crazy” before she left town on Young and the Restless. But it sounds like Chelsea got some therapy and “learned her lesson”. She says she wants to “repair her family” and get Adam to forgive her. But if Adam’s ex is going to play nice, that sounds like a pretty dull time on Young and the Restless. Surely, him being close to Sally sparks drama…

However, Egan’s quick to reassure fans that there’s a lot of mischief to come for Chelsea, who will always be a con artist at heart. And of course, a major character flaw is Chelsea Newman’s jealousy and the extremes she goes to in that vein. So, with Adam looking at another woman (or two), that sets the stage on Young and the Restless for trouble. How will she and Sally Spectra get along?
What’s Ahead for Chelsea if She’s Not Crazy on Young and the Restless?
Egan says Chelsea worked on herself, but surely she’s not changed her basic nature on Y&R? Already, Chloe Mitchell warned Sally Spectra about getting too close to Adam. And it’s not just about him — it’s about how she knows her BFF will react to a potential new rival on Young and the Restless.
Egan said Chelsea’s “very threatened” by Sally’s presence in Adam’s life. She said also that her character’s bothered by any “strong beautiful women” in his life. That includes Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). For now, Sharon’s not on Adam’s romantic radar, but that could change. Sally Spectra’s set to be the main rival when it comes to Adam, predict Young and the Restless spoilers.

The Young and the Restless CBS soap actress said she’s “so excited” for people to see these episodes. Reportedly, there is “so much good soapy potential” for Chelsea Newman versus Sally Spectra. Of course, Sally told Adam she was stepping back. But then when Sally said that, he looked even more intrigued. Once Chelsea sees that look on his face, you can bet trouble follows.
