‘Young and the Restless’: Engaged Sharon Case Fights for ‘Shadam’ in New Interview

Young and the Restless actress Sharon Case seems to be fighting for Sharon Newman to be paired with Adam Newman, played by her brand new real-life fiancé Mark Grossman. This popped up in a new interview with some super-fans for a Canadian news outlet. See what she said and what’s the latest on her presumed engagement to her co-star.

Sharon Case & Mark Grossman Engaged? Young and the Restless Leaker Says Yes

Twice now, Y&R star Sharon Case flashed a ring on that finger. The first time was at a luncheon for crew member Laura Walsh in a pic posted online by Melissa Ordway. At the pizza party, the Sharon Newman actress was seen with a sparkly diamond on her ring finger, alongside Ordway, Hunter King, and Amelia Heinle, among other crew members.

That photo posted on May 27. However, an inside source at CBS daytime who leaks Young and the Restless information let the cat out of the bag weeks earlier on May 5 with a blind item. They said that two cast members that are dating off-set got engaged. So, it looks like Mark proposed to Sharon even while Adam and Sharon Newman were splitting on-screen.

But it could be that Sharon Case wants to spend her time on Young and the Restless enjoying scenes with her soon-to-be husband Mark Grossman. And who could blame her? The man is handsome, no doubt. In a recent chat with two mega fans for a Canadian news bureau, she was busy talking about “Shadam” and it sounded like she was lobbying for a reunion for them on Y&R.

Y&R Actress Wants Shadam Back Together? Yes

Young and the Restless superfans Dee Flintakis and Alan Sarapa chatted with Sharon Case for the Toronto Sun. And although she’s married to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) on the CBS soap, all they could talk about was her and Adam and their star-crossed romance. She asked why they thought the pairing was so popular.

Dee Dee said she loved “the messiness” of Adam with Sharon. Alan said she and Mark have “great chemistry and a Beauty and the Beast vibe.” The Young and the Restless actress said “Mark was the perfect recast” for Adam. She went on to say that she loves that Shadam is “messy” and not the “perfect couple” and that they are an “underdog” pairing on Y&R.

Sharon also mentioned that they’ve been cleaning up Adam a lot by him helping Faith (Reylynn Caster) a lot, so there is “a lot less reason to hate him”. They asked the actress about accusations that Adam’s “toxic” for her and she said, “everybody’s toxic”. And said “what couple hasn’t been” at some point? And she said that makes it exciting. No doubt dating her co-star also adds a thrill…

She said they’re like “any couple” and said Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon had “a lot of cheating”. She said went through “horrible things” and mentioned him trying to take custody when she wasn’t well. And she reminded that “was toxic too”. She did compliment all the actors and characters she’s been paired with over the years on Young and the Restless. Then talk returned to Shadam.

Young and the Restless Actress Says Sharon & Adam Need a “Big Wedding”

Y&R‘s Sharon Case acknowledged that the soap “started and stopped” Shadam a few times but “she’s so glad” they restarted them. She said she “loves that arc” that he gave Faith a kidney. And she also called “frustrating” the months of Adam not knowing about her cancer on Young and the Restless. She said it “wasn’t natural” to her.

Sharon also said “great love stories are harder to come by” and “people want that big romance”. Then, she said: “Sharon and Adam speak to the audience that way”. She doesn’t know the Young and the Restless storyline but thinks that even if there’s a pause, they will be back. She said he’ll show up at the coffee house looking for her. Then, she laughed and agreed they can’t stay away from each other.

Things to Watch for in the Young and the Restless Interview

If you watch the interview above, you can see her engagement ring. Be sure to watch at the 14:15 minute mark. When talking about engagements and Adam professing love, the Young and the Restless actress stares down at her ring quickly. At the 17:55 mark, watch for one of our photo collages. And at the end of the interview, she speaks to Mark, who’s off-screen and unseen.

Then, as the chat rocks on, the Y&R longtime actor says Sharon Newman has some fear and is being “cautious”. Plus, she needs to get a divorce and it affects their children and there’s a lot to think about and do. She said, “they’re taking it slow…” and “their fear beyond the logistics” is that “they want to know it’s going to work this time”. “They want to know it’s endgame”.

As for the wedding itself for Adam Newman and Sharon Newman, the actress says she doesn’t see them going “the small wedding route”. Instead, she envisions a “royal wedding” – something big. As for what the two engaged actors will do when it comes to saying “I do” in real life – no word on that yet.ne
