3 Ways Thomas Forrester Can Be Redeemed on ‘Bold and the Beautiful’
Can Thomas Forrester be redeemed on Bold and the Beautiful? Maybe. We’ve got three ideas to get him out of this seemingly no-win situation he’s gotten himself into on the CBS soap. It seems impossible on B&B, but maybe not…
#1 Thomas Forrester Diagnosed with Brain Cancer on The Bold and the Beautiful
It’s been almost two years to the day on B&B when Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) needed brain surgery. Hunky Dr. Finn (Tanner Novlan) discovered a subdural hematoma. It was what caused Thomas to hallucinate all that creepy stuff with the Hope mannequin.
Finn repaired the brain bleed on The Bold and the Beautiful, but what if there was an underlying problem that’s been undiagnosed this whole time? Perhaps Thomas has a serious brain malady like a cancerous tumor or lesion?
Some fan theories include that he might have DID (dissociative identity disorder), but his actions don’t fit it. But a tumor or lesion caused by cancer could affect his behavior, decision-making, and choices.
If Bold and Beautiful writers gave Thomas Forrester a medical condition to explain all these bad choices, that could redeem him. It seems the only way to dig out of this hole is if something made him act badly on the CBS soap opera.
#2 Thomas Falls Deeply in Love with a New Lady & Marries Her on B&B
One huge sticking point for the B&B characters that despise Thomas is his ongoing obsession with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). But that could end in a couple of ways to make him seem normal at last on The Bold and the Beautiful.
First, they need to find some way to explain his past bad choices. As we said above, a brain malady might help. Second, Thomas Forrester needs another woman in his life. Third, it should be someone with whom he falls head over heels in love and marry.
Maybe it can be a nurse that helps him during his recovery. No matter where or when he meets this person, the feelings between them need to be deep and sincere. Thomas really needs to move past this fixation on Hope the writers created out of thin air.
Despite what they’ve said, if you’re a longtime watcher of Bold and Beautiful, you know that he was never obsessed with her back in the day. Instead, he only distracted Hope to help Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), but he wasn’t really into her.
Now, they’ve reinvented history to make him this villain who’s obsessed with the youngest Logan daughter. Even though the history’s been tweaked, we’re stuck with it now. So, Thomas needs a new relationship (that the writers promised before but didn’t deliver).
#3 Douglas, Brooke & Others Get Sincere Apologies on Bold and the Beautiful
So, if The Bold and the Beautiful writers want to redeem Thomas Forrester, they first need to explain his bad behavior in some plausible way. Then, they need to give him a new relationship that completely replaces his affection for Hope.
And finally, Thomas needs to make amends to everyone he’s hurt. Even if there’s a medical excuse for his actions, he must own them and issue sincere apologies. That list is long and starts with his son, Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri).
But it also includes Hope, her husband, and her mother, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). Also, on B&B, the apology tour must include his parents, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen).
The idea of redemption for the designer on Bold and Beautiful seems impossible, but there is a path. The writers just need to get creative and soapy and explain it, then stick with it. Otherwise, there’s no hope for Thomas Forrester other than him leaving.
