‘Sister Wives’: Kody Brown Calls Flagstaff Wildfire ‘Beautiful’

Sister Wives star Kody Brown is not far from the raging wildfires near Flagstaff. He shares how he and the kids watched it last night and described it in a few ways. But by doing so, it seems Kody’s description left himself wide open for the reprimand of fans.

Sister Wives: Kody Brown on Fire Watch

In his latest post online, Kody Brown shares how the fire is close enough to his home to see. But instead of presenting with any worry, he seems in awe over the sight of it.

So, he and some of his kids used binoculars to watch the raging fire. He gave the location of this wildfire as being “across the valley” from his home. News reports have three raging fires near Flagstaff on their way to converging.

The latest reports have them out of control during the windy conditions in the area. The Pipeline Fire is about six miles outside the city. So far, it’s devasted about 5,000 acres.

Then there are two other fires, but smaller in the area. That’s the Haywire Fire and Double Fire. Authorities report that they expect these three fast-traveling fires to converge.

So as they do it sounds like the Sister Wives patriarch and some of his brood have a ringside seat, to hear Kody tell it.

Kody in Awe of the Fire?

Kody said the fire was as beautiful as it was devasting. So, it sounds as if he was describing how the earth’s elements can offer beauty and devastation at the same time.

But the evacuation area grows with scared residents leaving their homes. The map in the video below doesn’t appear to show Kody Brown’s vicinity as one of the evacuation areas.

But if he can eye the flames from his Sister Wives home with binoculars, it’s likely close enough to rattle their comfort zone.

So, the word beautiful might not be a word you’d want to use. But there is another problem, or at least it should be a problem according to his fourth wife.

Sister Wives: What about Robyn Brown’s Phobia?

Robyn hated living in any area with trees, she said a few times on Sister Wives. She worries about possible fires breaking out. She said as a child her family was in an area where a wildfire raged.

Because of this, she has a phobia about living in a wooded area. This excuse got Kody Brown to give up one of his first choices of Flagstaff properties.

Kody and Meri fell in love with the property in Cottonwood and the other wives seemed fine with it as well. But not Robyn. It had too many trees.

That is when she told her story and revealed her phobia. But… and this is one big but, when you look at photos of the house (above) that she and Kody live in today, you can’t help but notice the trees.

They own this Sister Wives home. So, why she agreed to this is unknown. If she does have that fear of fires as she reported a few seasons ago, then she has to be very stressed out right now. Especially since Kody Brown can watch the flames from his house with binoculars.

The Arizona Fires Started with Burning Toilet Paper?

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has a suspect in custody today. Matthew Riser, 57, faces charges of federal natural resource violation. The fire started Sunday morning only 6 miles north of Flagstaff.

Flagstaff is where the bulk of the Sister Wives family resides. All except for Christine Brown, who lives in Utah now. It seems this suspect camped out in the woods and claims he didn’t see any campfire warning.

Reports state that he allegedly lit toilet paper on fire. This is what authorities believe started the Pipeline fire, the larger of all three.

With no rain in sight and the humidity very low, the conditions make containment difficult. Add in the wind, and this fire is a long way from being under control, according to the report.
