‘Sister Wives’: Is Meri Taunting Christine Due to Old Wounds?

Sister Wives star Meri Brown and Christine Brown were most likely never best of friends. But they didn’t appear as if they were enemies either. With that said, for some fans, it looks like Meri started a campaign against Christine.

Both Meri and Christine Brown had their ups and downs with their co-wives now and then on the show. All four of the co-wives bumped heads at one time or another through a decade on the screen.

But it wasn’t until the Sister Wives penned a book that fans learned more about grudges within the family. With Meri, it started early on, even before Robyn Brown joined the family.

Meri, Christine, and Janelle Brown lived under one roof. This caused friction between the first wife and the other two brides. Both Janelle and Christine described how tough it was at times with Meri, who was the first wife for Kody Brown.

It seems the first wife of the Sister Wives has a bit more control over things than the others. It sounds like that was the case with this number one wife at times. But there was more to it when it came to Meri Brown and one of her co-wives. She saw wife number three as competition.

All About Kody Brown for Christine & Meri?

Not too long ago, Meri explained how it was different with Christine than it was with Janelle. From the get-go, Janelle didn’t pose any competition for her when it came to romance with their husband.

From Meri’s perspective, Janelle was more like his confidant or his buddy. But when Christine Brown came along, she was different. She wanted a romantic marriage. So, up until the third bride arrived, Meri was the Sister Wives romantic partner for Kody.

So, some jealousy bubbled up. But that was over 25 years ago, and these women grew together while raising all the children. So, with all that past stuff long gone, you would think the women would be close after a quarter of a century together.

Sister Wives: Embers Still Smolder?

Christine not only left Kody, but the Sister Wives family as well. Janelle appears to support Christine, as they stay in touch. But Kody’s first bride seems angry at the co-wife who jumped ship. But why — is it because she left?

Recent reports describe Meri posting odd messages that seem to be aimed at Christine. Newsweek suggests Meri’s “cryptic messages” seem to “accuse” Christine Brown of copying her.

TLC launched an online cooking show — Cooking with Just Christine. In some of Meri’s latest messages, it sounds as if she begrudges Christine with this success.

Meri posted some cooking videos on Instagram a while back. So, fans seem to think Meri believes Christine Brown took her idea and ran with it.

So, what is Meri so bothered by today? Christine is no longer an object of romantic competition for any of Kody’s other wives. She’s away from the Sister Wives family and she seems to mind her own business. So why does this first wife give the appearance of popping up with jabs toward Christine Brown?

Season 17 is already underway. So, this could be the season that exposes any anger that Meri Brown may still feel toward her co-wife.
