Sister Wives: COVID “Pulled a Blanket” off Problems
On Season 16 of the TLC reality series, Christine Brown is still with Kody Brown. She’s still one of the Sister Wives. But in real-time, fans know she split from him. Kody Brown confirmed their split in early November 2021. But it looks like the split might have come months prior based on upcoming events on their series.
As family members talk, it becomes evident that the pandemic’s driven a wedge in this plural marriage. Robyn Brown tells Janelle Brown that it’s “pulled a blanket” off some of their issues. Meri Brown confirms and says COVID gave them a “new platform” to “gripe” at each other. What’s clear is that Kody’s stayed away from two of his wives for months.
Those two are Janelle and Christine Brown. In an argument with Gabriel Brown, Kody says they’re not following his rules. In a nutshell, Kody doesn’t want the Sister Wives to see each other — or the kids. Instead, he wants to go house to house while everyone stays apart. But Christine and Janelle can’t abide that. Because they raised their kids together. So, that’s one issue.
Christine Brown Chose Janelle Over Kody
This week on Sister Wives, Christine Brown admits she used to do anything Kody wanted. And she’d do anything he said. She said she’s not like that anymore. Instead, Christine says she’s “the head” of her household because she’s present. She said it’s hard for her daughters to respect him because he’s made it clear he has favorites.
Then, Christine said her girls struggle with it. She says it’s apparent he’s more comfortable at other Sister Wives houses. In talking to Gabe, Kody made clear that he expected everyone to stay home and away from everyone else. But he says Janelle continued to vacation as did Christine. Kody said Janelle “screwed him” this Summer by defying his rules.
And it’s clear Christine Brown chose Janelle Brown. Because the two spent time with their kids together. And it’s in defiance of Kody’s strict guidelines. Janelle said what Kody asked was over and above CDC guidelines. So, for months, there’s a wedge between them. And it’s clear Kody thinks Christine is driving it deeper by not complying.
Christine Says Lack of Intimacy Wrecked Sister Wives Marriage
Next week on TLC, Kody’s stunned to find his belongings packed and stacked in Christine Brown’s garage. So, what drove her to boot him out of her home? Christine says her husband told her they wouldn’t be intimate anymore. And she says she doesn’t want “a marriage with no intimacy”.
All season long, the divide between him and Christine widened. It was painfully evident when they got together to sign the papers for Ysabel Brown’s surgery. He kept stepping away from her, was brusque, and practically threw the papers at her. Plus, Kody didn’t show up to see his daughter when she had surgery.
Many Sister Wives followers wondered if that was the breaking point for their marriage. But it seems that Kody not wanting to be in Christine’s bed was what did it. Of course, the scene was no doubt edited for drama, but what Christine Brown said was clear. Kody refused to be intimate with her and she’s not down with that. So, is he intimate with any other wives? Or only Robyn Brown?
