Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Lisa Rinna Settles Copyright Infringement Case Against Her
In June of 2021, Lisa Rinna was accused by Backgrid USA Inc of illegally using their images on her social media pages. Backgrid alleged that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star violated federal law by infringing their copyrights.
Backgrid said they were losing out on a lot of money. So, they sued her for $1.5 million. However, Rinna claims differently. She said that the company has a history of “setting up celebrities.”
She also said that she felt the company was attempting to increase its income during the pandemic. Both parties have agreed upon a settlement.
The lawyer for Backgrid says, “Both parties agree to settle this case with a full and final release of claims and parties.” U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi issued an order Tuesday dismissing the case.
The terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Now that Rinna has her summer free, fans believe it will give her more time to focus on her next plan of action.
