OutDaughtered‘s Adam Busby and Danielle Busby took pictures of the damage done to their family’s home and property. And they shared ways everyone can pitch in to help the town of Lake Charles Texas and its residents.
OutDaughtered Update: Danielle Busby and Adam Busby Safe
When Hurricane Laura was in the Gulf of Mexico heading inland, it looked like it might hit League City, Texas. Adam Busby and his wife Danielle Busby stayed put during the last hurricane. But Danielle and her husband Adam were ready to get out this time. The OutDaughtered couple is thankful the storm didn’t end up hitting their house but are sad for their family in Louisiana.
In fact, once they saw the hurricane was heading for their hometown, OutDaughtered stars Danielle and Adam’s family, including Nana, Papa, Grandma, Kayla, and the girls came to stay with them. They rode out the hurricane together at the Busby house, and everyone is safe. Despite the fact that everyone is safe, their homes are damaged, and much of the city is completely destroyed.
The weather forecasters described much of the storm as unsurvivable. And sadly, there were lives lost in the storm as well as severe damage.
Adam Makes It Home
Before the OutDaughtered family knew the hurricane’s track, Adam Busby was out of town working. Adam had to quickly fly back home where they were planning to head west to steer clear of the storm.
TLC’s Danielle Busby saw the severity of the storm and begged her family and friends to get out. Thankfully, Adam and family’s loved ones didn’t stay in their homes in Louisiana since many of them have severe damage. And now Danielle is letting everyone know how they can help the storm-damaged city.
Many from Texas are going to help out throughout this difficult time. It feels like a very short time ago that they were helping OutDaughtered cast member Danielle’s mother Mimi Theriot clean up the wreckage from Hurricane Harvey. It’s still unclear how far the reaches of Laura are.
OutDaughtered: Danielle Shares How to Help
Even though their family is right in the middle of the chaos, Danielle Busby, her husband Adam Busby, and other family members are helping. In fact, Danielle’s sister Ashley Mowbray (known as Aunt LiLi on OutDaughtered) has opened her Heist Hair Bar’s lobby in Kemah, Texas for donations.
Keep in mind that people in the storm-ravaged areas of Louisiana are without power and water. They do not have basic needs, and volunteers are going to help as much as possible. The outreach group Eight Days of Hope that helped Mimi is making their way to the city to lend a hand.
The rebuilding process will take a long time and many man-hours. But the outreach and support from across the U.S. and around the globe has been overwhelming and touching.
