Natalie Morales is on Young and the Restless again this week as Talia Morgan, surprising fans with another cameo. So, is she recurring now and will we see more of her on Y&R on CBS?

A month ago, journalist Natalie Morales confirmed her Y&R role as investigative reporter Talia Morgan, a role custom-made for her. To answer the question above — yes, it’s a recurring role, not just a one-off cameo on Young and the Restless.

Currently, Natalie’s a co-host of CBS show The Talk. So, it’s convenient for her to shoot soap scenes for the same network. At the time, she revealed she’s “playing investigative reporter Talia Morgan” as part of the resurrected Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) plot.

And Natalie promised, “It’s going to be a lot of fun.” Already, she’s appeared in seven episodes of The Young and the Restless, the most recent September 21, 2022, as of this writing. It seems there’s plenty more of her, and her character Talia to come.

Is Y&R’s Talia Morgan her First Soap Role?

Natalie Morales is no stranger to being in front of a camera, but it’s usually behind a desk with the other hosts of The Talk. And she told ET Canada that hosting the chat show is “so much easier” than being on Y&R. She said of working on a soap – “This is hard…”

But it’s also not her first time making non-news show appearances. She often appears as herself for movie cameos. These include Pitch Perfect 2, Sharknado 3 and 4, and Zoolander 2. Those were well before Young and the Restless.

Natalie also had bit parts in prime-time country soap Nashville and also Graves, and This is Us before coming to The Young and the Restless. And she’ll have more scenes on the CBS soap as the ladies continue to unravel Diane’s backstory.

How Long Will Natalie Appear as Talia on Young and the Restless

Nikki Newman actress Melody Thomas Scott was “so thrilled” to hear Natalie Morales would play Talia. Why? Because Melody’s a “huge Dateline fan,” and she totally fangirled about it.

Natalie qualified that her work on Y&R is “not a cameo” but a “story arc.” Phyllis Summers’ actress Michelle Stafford called the journo “beautiful and amazing” and said she was easy to work with on the set of Young and the Restless.

Natalie Morales said she enjoyed playing Talia Morgan and said it was “a challenge,” and she enjoys pushing her limits. But she acknowledged it was hard work and joked, “let’s leave the acting to the actresses”.

So, we don’t expect to see her long-term on Y&R, but you never know — she might pop up again or on sister soap B&B. We’ll keep you updated on when she’s leaving the soap.
