‘My 600-lb Life’: Larry Myers Battles Back from 940 Pounds
Larry Myers is trying to get healthy and in shape after maxing out at 940 pounds two decades ago and hopes My 600-lb Life can help him. Can he complete the challenges ahead of him and regain his health?
Larry Myers Topped out at Almost 950 Pounds
At his heaviest, Larry tipped the scales at almost 950 pounds. He said, “my highest recorded weight was 940 pounds”. He said hearing that, he was “completely devastated.” He explains the moment he decided to change.
It was when he was carted off to the hospital with people were taking pictures and laughing at him. But to get a gastric sleeve, he first had to lose weight on his own. Larry says he set up a gym in his house.
He worked out from the moment he woke to hit that goal weight. He also cut his diet down to three Jello cups a day. Larry shed 400 pounds then got his gastric surgery.
From there. he dropped over 300 pounds. And he endured four skin operations. His goal was to get all the way down to 165 pounds.
Faith Helped Him Lose Weight Years Ago
Larry Myers takes pride in his faith in God. That is one of the reasons he takes his love of gospel music so seriously. Unfortunately, he explains that his career was short-lived due to depression and weight gain.
By the time he was pushing 950 pounds, he lost almost 600 pounds and was mobile again. So, he also became a motivational speaker. That’s something he didn’t talk about on My 600-Lb Life.
He spread the message of motivation to many. He even made YouTube videos about his excess skin and working out. Larry also wrote a book on his experience with weight loss and even spoke at different events.
He shows off his giant pair of pants with him to prove that he is “living proof” that weight loss at that size is possible. But he unfortunately regained and reversed his surgery.
Larry Myers Regained Weight – Wants Surgery Again on My 600-lb Life:
Larry Myers is trying to lose weight again. He is over 600 pounds because he stretched his stomach back out and undid his gastric sleeve. He is back to eating meals of 3,000 calories or more.
He’s large and has trouble with mobility. He made great progress on his weight loss journey but says the depression got to him. He now needs a caretaker, Mr. Lawrence, who comes and helps seven days a week.

For Larry, 600-plus pounds is far better than 950 pounds. But he still has a long way to go before he’s out of the obesity danger zone.
He needs Dr. Younan Nowzaradan‘s help because he’s impressed with his track record. Can Larry Myers get control of his life again?
