‘Married at First Sight’: No Exotic Honeymoon for Atlanta Couples – COVID Wrecks MAFS Plans

Married at First Sight fans were glad to see that COVID didn’t keep the couples from going on a honeymoon. But the Atlanta couples won’t be flying off to anywhere exotic.

Married at First Sight: Weddings During Shutdowns and Lockdowns

Fans of Married at First Sight had their worries about doing weddings during the pandemic. Despite the virus, they were able to have weddings there since Atlanta isn’t under heavy lockdown. They also made sure to take precautions by keeping weddings small and distanced.

In previous seasons, the couples would go to exotic locations, like Mexico, for their Married at First Sight honeymoon. But this season, things are much different since the pandemic hit halfway through the last season.

International travel isn’t possible for a variety of reasons, so they decided to send the MAFS newlyweds to Las Vegas.

Some Married at First Sight fans thought it was strange to send them somewhere with so many people. In fact, some thought it would have been a better idea to let them go to a remote location in Mexico. Whatever the case, viewers look forward to seeing how they pull off the Vegas honeymoon.

Taping During the Pandemic

Taping the Lifetime show during the pandemic was a challenge. Everyone has to make sure they have negative COVID tests if they go in groups. And the production team has to make sure they are safe as well.

Viewers worry Married at First Sight will be a little boring this season. But some are hopeful since the production crew was able to make the end of last season interesting. In fact, some people think the extra stress of the situation makes things more interesting.

One fan said they thought it was interesting that Clara Fergus of Married at First Sight was still working as a flight attendant during a time with travel limitations. And Erik Lake still had his job working as a commercial pilot. Whatever the case, it should be interesting to see how they work out the honeymoon festivities.

Married at First Sight: Adding Drama to the New Season

Experts added a couple of twists to this season of MAFS. This is the first year there is an interracial couple (Ryan Oubre and Clara Fergus). And, this is the first year there is a divorcee on the show. Viewers think this is a long time coming and look forward to seeing how it works out.

Erik Lake (Virginia Coombs’ new husband) is the divorcee on the show, but it’s been around two years since his divorce. He said he learned a lot with his new relationship. And he hopes to make things much better with this relationship.
