Married at First Sight host Jamie Otis had no idea she got fired from the Lifetime show. She hosted MAFS Unfiltered, but production replaced her with someone else without any notice.

Jamie said she had no idea she wouldn’t be hosting Unfiltered anymore. She geared up for going to Los Angeles, California for taping. She hadn’t gone out to buy her outfit yet, but she was getting ready to so she could leave on her trip.
One of the cast members from Married at First Sight Season 13 told her about her replacement. If they hadn’t told Jamie Otis she was done, she wasn’t sure when production would have let her know. She tried to downplay the pain by saying this would work out for her.

Even though she didn’t know about the firing, Jamie said she was still grateful to Married at First Sight. After all, she did meet her husband, Doug Hehner, through the show. They were on the first season – before the show made it to the Lifetime network.
MAFS: Jamie’s Major Life Changes
Before she found out she would no longer be on the Married at First Sight show, she was already changing up her lifestyle. They had a house in New Jersey as well as a house in Florida but didn’t want to have the responsibility of two houses anymore. They decided to move into an RV with their two children, Henley Hehner and Hendrix Hehner.
Not long after they decided to make this big move, Jamie said Hendrix had seizures. Married at First Sight fans said that would be scary enough when you aren’t traveling. But Jamie and her hubby Doug are dealing with it like champions, fans said.
Jamie Otis got a lot of flack for recording while Hendrix Hehner had a seizure. However, some viewers reminded people that the doctor would want to see how it looked. She has gotten a lot of backlash for her parenting, but not everyone agreed it was called for, Soap Dirt recalls.
Married at First Sight: Paying It Forward
Despite the firing from Married at First Sight, Jamie said she wanted to pay it forward. She said her mom was a single mom of many children when she was young. There were different charities that always made sure they had a good Christmas.
Jamie Otis gave back to those charities, but she wanted to give some away to fans as well. Married at First Sight viewers said they felt she took the firing very well. And that her good attitude made a big difference in how people felt about her now. Hopefully, her new endeavors will be just as positive.
