‘Married at First Sight’ Exclusive: Danielle and Bobby Dodd Reveal Who’s the Boss in the Marriage

Married at First Sight pair Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman were one of the most talked-about couples on their season of the Lifetime show and accompanying spinoff. They’ve been married for some time now. And, together, they raise their young girl, Olivia Nicole. The pair recently spoke with Soap Dirt and cleared the air surrounding their marriage dynamic. What did the MAFS couple reveal?

SD: What was the hardest part about your Married at First Sight union in the first year?

Bobby Dodd with Danielle Bergman (BD/DB): “Listening to everyone’s outside opinions about our [Married at First Sight] marriage. We had a pretty great thing going and everyone would really try and rain on that parade! But we knew very early on that it was against everyone, and we would make it no matter what”.

SD: How has Olivia Nicole changed your Married at First Sight life and marriage?

DB/BD: “It has definitely added a whole new layer to the equation. It’s harder to be patient and understanding with each other when you are sleep deprived or a tiny human is screaming in your ear! It tests every inch of your patience, and it’s easy to take it out on one another”.

MAFS: Bobby & Danielle Talk Filming – Give Marriage Tips

Soap Dirt: What’s some of the best advice from the Married at First Sight experts you still use today?

Danielle Bergman/Bobby Dodd: “To always put each other first! No matter what”.

SD: Is there any for other MAFS couples, both current and future?

BD/DB: “That you are on the same team with the same goal! Be yourself, be honest at every turn, and lean into the [MAFS] experiment”.

SD: What was something that surprised you when you saw your spouse’s confessionals while watching Married at First Sight?

Bobby Dodd/Danielle Bergman: “No, we were on the very same page throughout the [Married at First Sight] experiment. But, it was interesting seeing how it all came together!”

Soap Dirt: What’s the biggest misconception you think Married at First Sight followers have about you?

BD/DB: “That Bobby [Dodd] is a pushover and I’m [Danielle Bergman] someone that makes him do everything for me! I think [MAFS] followers got a very real look into the give and take of a marriage. Things aren’t always gonna be 50/50. That’s not real life. I hope [Married at First Sight] viewers can see how the give and take has shifted. When Bobby [Dodd] needs more from me, I give it – and vice versa!”

SD: What is the biggest misunderstanding Married at First Sight fans have about your relationship?

Bobby/Danielle: “That we don’t have any problems. We just don’t fight a whole lot! We got very lucky and communicate similarly but we have disagreements a plenty! It’s also a part of our marriage we don’t really show the [Married at First Sight] cameras as it’s private and between the two of us”.

SD: What’s a question you have never been asked that you wish had been?

Danielle/Bobby: “Is there even anything that hasn’t been asked?”

SD: For Bobby [Dodd]: What’s it like having the same name as a famous college football player and coach? Any interesting or funny stories?

Bobby: “People always think we’re related because I’m Bobby Dodd III and we have a lot of family in GA… not to mention that our family are big Tech fans. You can really jack with people if you want to.” [Laughs]

Currently, Married at First Sight watchers see Bobby Dodd and wife Danielle Bergman on Couples’ Cam. This self-shot series offers a closer look at MAFS favorites.

Meanwhile, Danielle got a lot of flak from viewers because it seemed she was far too demanding. But, based on what the pair told SD, that doesn’t seem to be the case in reality.

At times, it seemed Bobby Dodd couldn’t get a word in with Danielle Bergman. But, clever editing by production may be to blame. Since their time filming Married at First Sight and Happily Ever After, it looks like they’ve settled into married life quite well. And, they’re proud parents to boot.
