Love After Lockup star Monique Robinson has confused many WEtv fans about her story. They do not understand how she can blow thousands of dollars on her prison inmate boyfriend Derek on her income. They feel something about the couple’s story is just not adding up.

Monique Robinson and her inmate boyfriend, Derek, are about to have their first face-to-face meeting during Friday’s upcoming episode of Love After Lockup. Viewers say they felt something wrong with this relationship from the first episode.
They feel the details of the couple’s story don’t quite make sense. She met him through a prison pen pal group while scrolling Facebook. Robinson says the two of them had an instant connection. Fans find it crazy that the couple has never met in person.
The Love After Lockup star says she has sent him many photos of herself, some even very inappropriate. So even Monique Robinson’s friends are suspicious of this relationship.
They are afraid Monique has not been honest with Derek. Especially about the fact she is a more prominent woman. So they fear their friend could quickly end up heartbroken.
Love After Lockup: Monique Drops $1100 on Jeans for Derek
Release day is quickly approaching, and Love After Lockup star’s anxiety is beginning to build. She knows she will have some explaining to do during their first meeting. Her sister Calandra travels with her to pick him up from prison.
The night before Derek is scheduled for release, Monique and Calandra are going through the gifts she purchased for him. She tells her it is just clothes for him to wear home.
But Calandra starts looking through things, and she makes a jaw-dropping discovery. Her sister has dropped $1100 on a pair of designer jeans and another $700 on a couple of joggers, every item name-brand and top-of-the-line.
During the Love After Lockup star’s confessional, she admits that she has spent close to $10K on him since she met him. Robinson is 35 and works as a VCA North Chicago Animal Hospital client service representative.
She has a 9-year-old son named KJ from her previous marriage. So, to see her drop this kind of cash on someone, she has never met makes Calandra uneasy.
Will The WEtv Couple’s First Meeting Be Their Last?
During their road trip, Monique tells her sister the plan for her Love After Lockup boyfriend’s release. She says Derek told his family not to show up for his release. She says he knows it is a special moment for the couple and wants it to be special for her.
While Monique and Calandra wait outside for him, a white SUV keeps driving by. Robinson is suspicious of the vehicle. She tells her sister if another woman shows up here, there will be a major problem.
Monique Robinson’s anxiety continues to build. She is nervous and has a strange suspicion about the SUV. Calandra says she wants to confront the SUV occupants. Instead, she is about to discover who the party crashers may be.
