Is Ashland Locke leaving The Young and the Restless – is Robert Newman nearly done on the CBS soap? It looks like this plotline with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) might be his last, according to a leaker at CBS daytime.

Ever since it came out that Ashland lied about having cancer, it felt like his days were numbered. You may recall that Ash was supposed to be just a short-term character when they cast Richard Burgi in the role.

But, then Y&R writers expanded his presence. It sure looked like the cancer was a real plot to start with. Why else would Ashland Locke have had attacks when he was all alone with no one watching?

Then, Young and the Restless decided to keep him around and make the disease a lie – and swapped actors. But the big fib ruined the character. Now, with Ash enjoying his “fresh start” with Victoria, it looks like she’s now running a con on him.

She wants to get the money back that her father gave Ashland – and then she wants to stomp his heart into oblivion. A Y&R leaker says that this scheme of Vikki’s may be the last arc for Robert Newman as Ash.

Robert Newman out at Y&R or is Redemption Possible?

Of course, the writers can try and redeem anyone on a soap opera. But fibbing about cancer and faking chemo and all that is next-level villainy. Especially with cancer survivors living in Genoa City and annoyed at him.

Will Young and the Restless try and write a redemption story for Robert Newman’s character? Will they try and keep Ashland Locke around or will they let Victoria defeat him and then send him away?

Signs don’t look good for Ash now that it’s evident that his wife’s running a con on him. Clearly, she wants to walk away from him on her terms. And she wasn’t going to let him scurry away with a half-billion of Newman money…

So, is the leaker right? Is this revenge plan of Vikki’s the swan song for Ashland? It could be. It sure looked before like he’d leave, but it wouldn’t be poetic justice if he left with a mountain of cash and no consequences, right?

Ashland Destined for Heartbreak and Thin Wallet on Young and the Restless?

In Young and the Restless spoilers, the family worries about Ashland still being around Vikki. But she’s got this well in hand. In fact, she just needs them to stay out of her way while she deals with Ash.

Longtime Y&R viewers know how petty she can be. So, she probably won’t be happy until Ashland doesn’t have a dime in the bank or a scrap of love left in his heart. She wants to ruin his life and break him. Will she do it?

Or will Ms. Newman crumble and keep him around? Right now, it feels like her rage keeps her going. But is there love left in her heart for him? So far, she’s not let Ash back in her bed, so that’s a sure sign things aren’t as they seem.
