General Hospital Spoilers: Kelly Thiebaud Ecstatic to Be Back as Britt Westbourne
Kelly Thiebaud’s ecstatic to step back into her GH role of Britt Westbourne. Now, Kelly cherishes the warm welcome she gets from fans. However, it was a complete surprise that Frank Valentini asked her to come back. But it’s something she has been hoping to do again.
Currently, Kelly Thiebaud is on contract, which is usually difficult for her because she does other projects. But the timing happens to be right. Kelly loves what they’re doing with her character right now, and she is delighted. When Kelly learned that Britt is the new chief of staff, she was in shock.
She jokes in a recent interview that Britt Westbourne’s not a nice person and might not be the best choice to run the hospital. However, we’re seeing more of Britt’s softer side these days, and it’s a nice change of pace. Kelly Thiebaud also shares her frustration about the false positive she got for Covid.
She was so worried that Steve wouldn’t be able to be on-set either because they worked so closely together. Plus, so much effort went into preparing for their scenes, and they were ready to deliver. But, they had to put it on hold. Surely, that was frustrating, but they are back on track and moving forward with their storyline on General Hospital.
Kelly Speaks Out on “Brason” Romance on GH
Kelly Thiebaud and Steve’s working relationship on General Hospital has transformed along with their characters. Also, Kelly says it is interesting and enjoyable. Steve has been on GH and in soaps for so long that he certainly knows his stuff. Kelly comments that Steve is easy to work with and has taken her under his wing.
She really enjoys her scenes with him. He supports her and helps her to have the best experience on-set. Another thing that Kelly Thiebaud raves about is that Steve’s hilarious and cracks her up all of the time. There is kind of a brother/sister vibe between them. They are always cracking jokes and poking fun.
In daytime, the actors are often unaware of what happens next. So, Steve says if Britt is on her way to a romance with Jason, then they need to pace it out and create a nice build. No doubt that seems to be the direction they’re going in, and they are creating a great story to get there.
Kelly promises Britt Westbourne is very much falling for Jason, she tells interviewer Michael Fairman. This is new for Britt because she’s never had someone like Jason in her life. Someone who supports her that she can lean on and count on. Currently, we see a turning point for “Brason” as they are close to crossing the line on General Hospital.

Of course, Kelly Thiebaud catches a little heat on social media from the JaSam fanbase. Kelly laughs that they do not want Britt Westbourne with Jason, and they tell her every day on Twitter. However, there is a mixture because she gets a ton of positivity from fans as well, she said in this recent soap chat.
Some JaSam fans out there want Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) back with Jason. However, they are loving the dynamic Jason has with Britt Westbourne. Many people adore Britt and are routing for her. Also, Kelly Thiebaud adores Sam McCall’s portrayer Kelly Monaco and says she is “so cool.”
Kelly Thiebaud enjoys their scenes together. As far as Jason’s bestie Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) goes, Kelly Thiebaud doesn’t think Carly will ever accept her as her best friend’s romantic interest. For now, Britt is playing it safe with Carly. She wants Carly to like her, but she gets to a point where it does bother her anymore if Carly disapproves.
Kelly hopes Britt will find true love because she hasn’t had it. She came close with Nikolas Cassadine (then Tyler Christopher), but things took an ugly turn. Kelly would love to show her softer, vulnerable, more romantic side. And she thinks there is another layer to Britt Westbourne that can be explored on General Hospital.
Medical Crisis Heats Up on GH
When Frank Valentini told Kelly Thiebaud that her General Hospital character Britt might have Huntington’s disease, she wasn’t sure what it was. So, she did her research and now knows that the disease is gruesome and it moves fast. And it eventually takes your life.
In fact, 90% of people choose not to find out if they have it because the decision is terrifying to make. It’s extremely life-altering and what Huntington’s does to a person is very sad. With the disease being so intense, she wonders how they will play this out on daytime.
Now, we know Britt Westbourne does carry the marker for Huntington’s and Britt’s beside herself. But Jason is right there by her side. She says the story is beautiful, and she’s happy that she has the chance to tell it on General Hospital.
Britt’s Life in Shambles
General Hospital spoilers see this health saga as very emotional and heavy. Kelly shares that it’s an honor to tell the story and for Britt Westbourne to go through this experience. Additionally, Kelly Thiebaud expresses that she wants Britt to continue her career as a doctor.
And she believes Britt will be even more dedicated to helping people after receiving her diagnosis. Although her current position as chief may be over, her medical career is not. Without giving too much away, Kelly teases Britt Westbourne has some fun stuff coming up involving Jason.
