‘General Hospital’: Michael’s Love is Kiss of Death – 4 Girlfriends Died Violently – Is Willow Next?
General Hospital fans know Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) seems to curse any woman he romances, and they are destined for death. With four dead women in his past, could the new love of his life, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), be next on GH? Now, let’s take a look back at how the girlfriends of Michael’s past met their doom for loving him on the ABC soap opera.
General Hospital: Michael Corinthos’ Girlfriend Curse – Abby Haver Was Victim #1
Longtime GH viewers will recall Michael Corinthos’ first real relationship was with Abby Haver (Andrea Bogart) when he was a teenager. Back in the day, when Michael got out of prison for beating his stepmom to death, he was traumatized from his experience at Pentonville. Remember, he was r*ped by another prison, Carter.
So, he was hesitant about physical contact but wanted to be intimate with a woman, recall General Hospital recaps. So, he asked Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to find him a prostitute. Someone who was experienced and might understand Michael’s situation.
Jason thought it was a bad idea, but Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) agreed to help. So, she introduced him to her friend Abby who was a stripper named Candy. And Abby had been a prostitute as well. Sam filled Abby in on Michael Corinthos’ issues, and she tried to help him.

Eventually, Michael Corinthos built a relationship with Abby and moved in with her. Though they faced challenges, they were extremely happy together. Michael began working at ELQ and got Abby a job there as well. She did her best to put her old life behind her on General Hospital.
But, someone was attacking exotic dancers, and Michael Corinthos feared for her safety even though she was no longer dancing. So, he had Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) send her to Chicago on a business trip. While there, Abby strolled by a construction site.
Then, a load from a crane fell on her, killing her. Michael was crushed (but not quite like Abby) and blamed himself for her death. Abby was the first victim of the curse, but she wasn’t the last that would die by violence. Crushed by construction materials is a rough way to go, though.
Sabrina Santiago #2 Gal Pal of Mikey’s Dead on GH
General Hospital viewers may recall Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) was the next of Michael’s girlfriends to die a tragic death. Michael was serious with Sabrina, and they thought they were having a baby together. But, it turned out that Sabrina’s ex was the father. Nevertheless, he was still very much in love with Sabrina when her life was tragically cut short.
You may remember that Sabrina was a real sweetheart on General Hospital. She was a nurse, and beloved by all. Sabrina also had a sad backstory when she lost her infant son Gabriel. He was her child with Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson). After a series of setbacks, she and Michael found true love and he was set to propose to her when the unthinkable happened.
Sabrina discovered that Port Charles DA Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) was the General Hospital killer. And the psycho serial strangler choked her to death. In the process, Sabrina saved Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and died a hero. Sabrina’s death hit Michael hard. But, she’s not the only ex of Michael Corinthos’ to die a horrible and violent death at the hands of a serial killer…
Kiki Jerome’s Tragic Murder was #3 on General Hospital
Perhaps one of the most tragic recent deaths on GH is that of Kiki Jerome (Haley Erin). Kiki was a wonderful and lovable person whose murder rocked Port Chuck. Of course, serial killer Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) is responsible for taking Kiki’s life. And although Kiki was not with Michael at the time, they once had strong feelings for each other.
Plus, Kiki was very close to the entire Corinthos family. No doubt, the death of Kiki hit them all hard. It seems even being Michael’s ex can be the kiss of death. Then, there’s also Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). Sasha had two brushes with death – one while dating Michael – and one after. The first was when Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) targeted Sasha for revenge on the Corinthos clan.
On General Hospital, Cassandra almost killed Sasha, Michael’s then-girlfriend, with a rare and deadly strain of the bird flu. After she and Mikey split, Sasha overdosed. That was due to the coke addiction she developed while trying to ensure Michael would get custody of Wiley. Currently, Sasha is still alive – for now. But, the curse of loving Michael Corinthos may come for her one day.
#4 Nelle from H*ll was Michael’s Latest Dead Ex – Will Willow Tait Die on GH Too?
Then, of course, there is psychopath Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier). Even though Nelle was crazy and likely deserved what she got, falling off a cliff is one heck of a way to go. Although, there is still a chance she’s alive and plotting her revenge on General Hospital. So, the last of Michael’s ladies (and exes) to die was Nelle, but you never know when the curse of loving Michael could strike again…
General Hospital predictions wonder if Willow could be the next to die from giving her heart to Michael Corinthos. Currently, Willow is still married to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). But she and Michael are madly in love. Now, Chase knows the truth and will most likely divorce Willow. Then, she will be free to be with Michael.
However, that may put her on borrowed time. Willow may be Michael’s latest curse victim. No doubt, after how she hurt Chase, many fans probably won’t mind if she kicks the bucket. Soon, another of Michael Corinthos’ many loves may bite the dust on the ABC soap opera. Watch and see.
