General Hospital may need to limit who’s on set because of COVID restraints – will Mike Corbin (Max Gail) return be delayed – and Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) killed off as a result? Also, our source says other fan-faves may be affected on GH. So, check out what actor changes may come as Coronavirus restrictions hit the ABC sudser as we move forward.
#1 End Nears for Nelle Hayes on General Hospital?
GH spoilers already suggest Nelle Hayes may get whacked by her new hubby Julian Jerome (William deVry). Or, Wiley’s granddaddy, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), might take her out on General Hospital. So, that timeline may hasten due to new guidelines. Now, the issue is there can’t be big groups in scenes. Clearly, we already know that will cause a problem with existing storylines – and Nelle’s is one of them.
Now, the leaker says they may alter scripts to make it scenes of 1-4 actors like other soaps are doing as well. So, with Chloe Lanier reportedly back for just an arc as Nelle, they may speed Nelle’s departure on General Hospital. Also, it’s GH may have lost revenue from months of airing only reruns, as ad rates might be lower on those. So, we’ve heard budget cuts are coming, and that could mean cast cuts – maybe including speeding up the Nelle Hayes storyline.
#2 Mike Corbin’s Return Pushed Off on GH?
Also, to come to General Hospital, Max Gail may need to take a step back as Mike Corbin because of his age. Of course, older people are at a greater risk of COVID. Plus, there’s chatter that two cast members might be positive for the virus. So, GH might delay Mike’s final scenes until they can do them justice. Ideally, Mike Corbin would pass surrounded by family – but they can’t tape a scene like that now.
Hopefully, Max will be able to shoot Mike’s last scenes to give the storyline the proper closure it deserves. No doubt, it will be a disappointment if Mike’s death is off-screen on General Hospital. So, we expect Mike Corbin not to be in early scenes – unless they change how they deal with filming at-risk actors. Fingers crossed this storyline gets a good wrap-up as it deserves.
#3 Dante Back for Lulu – Dustin a Third Wheel on General Hospital?
When new GH is on, there’s a chance Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) may need another scene partner. There’s talk of Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) return. Remember, Dom said his exit from General Hospital was not forever. Plus, a fan-fave was rumored to be in talks to return before the hiatus. So, if Dante comes for Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), that’s a problem for Dusty.
Also, from our source, one of the conditions on the General Hospital set is to limit group scenes. We heard that’s a problem for already-written scripts. For instance, a Dante-Lulu-Dustin love triangle would be a problem. And, of course, there are no love scenes allowed – unless Emme’s husband or Dom’s wife steps in as a body double. Or, Dom’s return could come later once restrictions ease.
#4 Amy and Felix on GH – Medical Staff Delayed?
Additionally, on General Hospital, the hospital staff may thin due to limits on how many can film at once. So, they may sideline some lesser-seen faces like nurse Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken). And if Mike’s story is delayed, Felix Dubois (Marc Anthony Samuel) might not be on the first GH new episodes either.
Surely, they may need to go with sparse (or no) extras. Of course, that would be sad because Felix is close to Mike and his family at General Hospital. Plus, it was exciting to see Felix back after so long. We’ll wait and see how they handle medical staff and limit actors in scenes. But, if they press ahead with Mike’s story – Felix should be in the mix.
#5 Robert Scorpio Leaves to Chase Holly Truth on General Hospital?
Soon to come on GH, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) might finish his arc – although he’s a delight on the ABC sudser. But, he’s dropped in and out over the years. Once his vendetta with Peter August (Wes Ramsey) resolves, General Hospital might back burner him for a while. Also, with the “death” of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms), it would be the perfect opportunity for him to take a break.
Clearly, he doesn’t believe she is dead and wants to prove it. So, he might leave town for a while. We know the GH budget was already tight, and the new safety measures were costly to implement. So, we expect big changes when the ABC soap goes back to work. Don’t miss new GH episodes to see how they handle the Nelle Hayes, Mike Corbin, and other storylines.
