‘General Hospital’: Is Alex Merrick the Hook Killer?
General Hospital mega-villain Alex Merrick (Finola Hughes) is pure evil. Indeed, she could be the psycho with a hook attacking people all over Port Chuck. Plus, she may be working with another super-villain to reach a common goal on the ABC sudsfest.
General Hospital: Alex Merrick Presumed Dead
Currently, on GH, legacy super-villain Alex Merrick’s believed to be dead. Last we saw the baddie, she got into a shoot-out with her good twin, Anna Devane (also Finola Hughes), on the Haunted Star, and she went overboard.
However, she didn’t just fall off the ship — she threw herself off. So, Anna thinks her evil twin is dead on General Hospital. But there’s a good chance Alex swam to safety and was lying low until it was time to make her move.
And that time might be now. Alex has a score to settle with her sister. So, the she-villain could be back in town to get vengeance on her twin sister. She’s had an entire year to plan her revenge, and she may finally be putting her scheme into action.
Evil Twin Out for Vengeance on GH
There’s an excellent chance Alex Merrick’s on a mission to punish her super-spy twin. General Hospital fans will recall that she imprinted her memories into Anna’s mind decades ago.
That way, she would think Peter August (Wes Ramsey) was her son. Alex thought she would raise “Henrik” and keep him safe from his evil father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). But instead, she put the baby up for adoption.
Then, he wound up with Faison because of Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). So, when the bad twin returned to General Hospital last Halloween, she tried to kill Anna and take over her life.
She wanted to be a mother to Peter and a grandmother to his baby with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). But Anna shot her, and off she went into the harbor.
Later, Peter died, and even though the WSB agent didn’t kill him, she didn’t help him either. Instead, the British super-spy let her nephew die.
And there’s no way Alex will let her get away with that. So, she might be conspiring with longtime villain Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) to frame the British super-spy.
Alex in Cahoots with Victor on General Hospital
GH fans know Alex Merrick and evil Victor ran in the same circles back in the day. They were both involved with the WSB and the DVX. So, their paths surely crossed at some point, and they likely knew each other.
Vic wants to get Val’s lady out of his way, and Alex wants to destroy her. So, it’s highly likely that she’s the one who shot Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring). And it looks like she’s helping Vic set her up on General Hospital.
Furthermore, Alex may be framing Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) as the Hook Killer to get rid of her for Victor. Recently, Vic set up social media posts from Europe to make it look like Esme was living out there.

So, he may also have a plan B to ensure he gets rid of the evil teen if she returns to General Hospital. Plus, by targeting Esme’s enemies, he could also do away with Ava Jerome (Maura West).
Indeed, the former DVX agent is similar in height, size, and coloring as Esme — just decades older. So, the two uber villains might be teaming up to reach their evil goals.

General Hospital viewers learn the identity of The Hook soon. However, it will likely still be a while before the citizens of Port Charles find out. And Alex Merrick is a good choice as the serial killer.
It’s a twist no one would see coming. Plus, no one will be cut from the main cast when the killer is caught. So, it makes perfect sense for her to be Vic’s accomplice.
