‘General Hospital’ Comings & Goings: Courtney Matthews Back for Spencer?
General Hospital comings and goings hint Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis) may be the latest resident of Port Charles to return from the dead. Her son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez), could really use his mom right now. But a resurrection? Hmm…
The Anniversary of Courtney Matthew’s Death on General Hospital
It was both Spencer’s birthday and the anniversary of his mother’s death this week on General Hospital. Courtney Matthews died back in 2006 after giving birth to her son with Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).
Her son’s now grown and never got the chance to know his mother. Courtney Matthews was the sister of Sonny Corinthos. A while ago. Sonny went to her grave and found Nikolas there. The two talked of their love for Courtney and how they miss her.
Nik also talked about how Spencer’s mom may have helped raise their son better than he did alone. Sonny agreed with him 100%. The mob boss does not approve of Nikolas’ fathering.
On General Hospital, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) spoke about how she missed her dear friend and sister-in-law. And Spencer was also thinking of his mom.
He wished to bring flowers to her grave but he is locked up at Spring Ridge Prison. This made him angry. He took some of this anger out on his girlfriend, Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl).
Spencer Needs His Mom More than Ever
Spencer Cassadine is feeling pretty low. He stalked his dad and Ava Jerome (Maura West) so he is serving time at Spring Ridge. His relationship with his father is about as bad as it gets at the moment.
Young Mr. Cassadine is also rethinking his relationship with Esme. He finally realizes that she is trouble, but he does not know what to do about it.
This has strained his friendships on General Hospital, especially with Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), who he truly cares about. So, his mom Courtney would be a big help right about now.
Spencer is struggling on the anniversary of his mother's death, West Coast. How will Victor use this to his advantage?

Now, the young man believes that the only person he can count on is his uncle, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Victor means trouble for his great-great-nephew but is worming his way into his life.
His latest stunt was to get the young prisoner out of jail to visit Courtney’s grave. The good news is that Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) is on to Victor and keeping a close eye on the situation.
Can Courtney Help Her Son?
General Hospital mentioned Courtney Matthews’ name a lot this week. This could mean that she will make an appearance. Spencer’s mom has popped up more than once as a ghost on General Hospital.
Courtney was there for her son in 2015 to help make him realize that he wasn’t disfigured. She told him that she is always there for him. More recently, her ghost appeared to her father, Mike Corbin (Max Gail) when he died. She escorted him to heaven.
Because of these moments, it appears that Courtney is really dead. Yet she may reappear once again on General Hospital as a ghost to help her son get through his hard times. She might warn him about Victor or Esme — or just offer support.
But this ABC soap has a history of bringing characters back from the dead, especially when the Cassadines are involved. Stranger things have happened. But it’s doubtful they’d do ghost-Courtney Matthews and then resurrect her. So, if she returns, it’ll likely be as a specter.
