‘General Hospital’ Comings and Goings: Luke Spencer Returns? Fans Think So
General Hospital comings and goings suspect Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) is alive and being held captive. And fans refuse to believe that the legacy character is dead and gone for good. So, Luke could very well resurface someday. Also, another soap vet exits and a surprise guest is on the way to the ABC sudser.
General Hospital Comings and Goings: Luke Spencer Death Unlikely – Will He Return?
Recently, on GH, Port Charles said goodbye to the legendary Luke Spencer. However, it seems highly unlikely that the iconic character would be killed off-screen and in such a mundane way.
The way Luke supposedly died is out of character for him. Indeed, he’s cheated death time and time again. So, for Luke to die in a fluke accident on a cable car raises eyebrows.
Plus, we know Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) said he “neutralized” him. And Victor has a habit of holding people prisoner. After all, Victor kidnapped his own son, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) last week.
Also, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) is likely Vic’s prisoner as well. So, it’s not a stretch to think that Victor has Luke Spencer. In fact, a recent poll by Soap Opera Digest shows 91% of General Hospital fans think Lucas Lorenzo Spencer is alive.
Soon, his partner, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), is targeted as his past haunts her. So, we may hear more about Luke’s “death”. Plus, Laura Spencer actress Genie Francis hinted Luke’s possible return saying showrunners are open to it. Of course, it would thrill GH fans.
Cast Update: Maurice Benard’s Son Heads to GH
Recently, General Hospital star Maurice Benard who plays Sonny Corinthos, hinted that someone very close to him is coming to the soap. And that is his young son, Joshua James Benard. Fans may recall Joshua played young Sonny in a “what if” episode on the mob kingpin.
So, Joshua may return to portray his young father once again. Currently, Sonny’s mental health is plummeting. So, Joshua may pop up again soon. And he may give more insight into the mobster’s childhood.
In addition to his stint on GH, Joshua has appeared on the popular primetime drama Sation 19. Also, Joshua had a part in one of Maurice’s movies, The Ghost and the Whale. No doubt, it will be a treat to see Mo’s son in action again.
Jennifer Smith Exits General Hospital
GH legacy villainess Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier) recently made a brief appearance at Luke’s memorial. And it appears she was gathering info for super-villain Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Casting news for the sudser confirms that Holly has wrapped her return as Jennifer. Also, newcomer Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) was temporarily recast. It was just one episode where Damien Leake took his place. Damien may look familiar to soap fans.
He had stints on several other soaps, including his role as Calvin Blaine on GH. Robert will reprise the role of Marshall in future episodes. So keep watching GH every day to see if Luke Spencer returns to the ABC daytime drama.
