‘General Hospital’: 5 Plots Fans Hate Right Now – Loony Liz, Mean Mikey, Dull Drew & More
General Hospital is one of the most loved and longest-running soaps of all time. Even non-soap watchers are familiar with some GH classic stories. Including the character plots of Drew Cain, Elizabeth Webber, Michael Corinthos and more.
But, at the moment, fans are struggling with the way in which the show is moving. They are not happy with the storylines of many of their beloved characters.
#1 Nikolas Cassadine & Esme Prince’s Age-Inappropriate Fling
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) is a legacy character on General Hospital. He is the child of GH legend, Laura Spencer (Genie Francis). Nikolas was a smart successful guy who had wonderful romances. But after faking his own death and then returning, Nik seems like a very different character.

After a few false starts, fans were loving his marriage to Ava Jerome (Maura West). These two seemed great together and their strong personalities were a joy to watch. But that changed when Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) came to live with them. Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) girlfriend is up to no good.
Everyone on General Hospital can see that she is a conniving witch, except Nikolas. Now, he slept with his young son’s girlfriend. General Hospital fans are screaming “Ewww!” at this storyline and want it to end ASAP.
#2 Elizabeth Webber Stalking Herself
General Hospital’s Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) is a mess. Much to fans dismay, her husband, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was murdered. Liz was devastated because she loved Franco and they were very happy together.
She began dating Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and he seemed like a great guy for her to move on with. Liz and Finn didn’t get too far in their relationship when strange things began to happen around her. At first, it seemed like someone was out to get her.
Then, she started to believe it was Franco’s ghost. But no, it was Elizabeth Webber stalking herself. Now, Liz is in Shadybrook and refusing to see Finn.
Is there more to this General Hospital storyline? We might finally get a glimpse into her life with her parents, which has been hinted at for some time. But for some fans, this story is moving way too slowly and nothing interesting seems to be happening.

Speaking of interesting, some believe that Finn has turned super-boring and annoying since he has been with Liz. General Hospital may need to liven up both these characters.
#3 Michael Corinthos Turning into a Mega-Jerk
We have seen Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) grow up on General Hospital. He was a good guy who everyone loved and was very close with both his parents, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos Laura Wright).
Something changed in him recently and some fans are not happy about it. He has become mean and nasty. Michael Corinthos is out to get Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) for keeping his father from his family.
Now, he also wants revenge on Sonny for siding with Nina. He wants to take his father down. This is not like the old Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, so it has left some fans scratching their heads. Why the drastic change in this character?

Many believe this “new” version of him is self-righteous and hypocritical. After all, he and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) had an affair. People in glass houses…
#4 Dull, Dull Drew Cain
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) used to believe he was Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). But when he became Drew Cain, he was still a great General Hospital character. When he came back from the dead, he helped take down Peter August (Wes Ramsey). And then…nothing.
This new version of Drew is really exhausting at times. Why is he always in everyone’s business?And he’s been a Q for half a second and is already trying to run things, no wonder need is pissed. #GeneralHospital

General Hospital doesn’t seem to know what to do with Drew. He has no story and nothing going on. So, he wanders around Port Charles listening to everyone’s problems and giving advice.
Drew Cain should be so much more than that. Fans are wondering when he is going to have something interesting to do and get a love interest. Many believe this is a waste of a great actor and what should be a great character. General Hospital may be dropping the ball on this one.
#5 Meh on Maxie Jones & Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt
General Hospital killed Franco Baldwin, but they kept Roger Howarth. Fans wonder why. Many loved the change in Franco and his marriage with Elizabeth Webber. He was taken away to give us Austin Holt. The reason may have been to give Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) a new love interest.
But fans are not loving this General Hospital couple at all. There doesn’t seem to be any chemistry between the two of them. And even if there was chemistry, they have no story. There is nothing going on between them at all.
Roger should definitely text Frank and ask not only “Why am I not on GH?" but “Why you got me on here with Maxie?” #GeneralHospital #GH

Some believe they both should be paired with someone else. There are calls for an Austin and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) pairing because the two do seem to have chemistry.
But that doesn’t look like it will happen. And Maxie could take a break from romance after that whole Peter fiasco. But as of now, fans are stuck with Austin and Maxie.
General Hospital fans are hoping the writers will step it up and give them the excitement and romance the soap is known for.
