‘Days of our Lives’ Preempted for 11 Days in February for Winter Olympics – See When It’s off the Air

Days of our Lives will not air on NBC daytime drama for more than two weeks next month. As the show’s preempted for the Winter Olympics, it’ll leave lives hanging in the balance. Plus, drama ramps up as January marches to a close. Here’s what we know about the interruption and the action.

Why is Days of our Lives Preempted?

Our favorite NBC sudser comes to a climactic halt at the beginning of next month. Starting, Friday, February 4, 2022, the long-running soap begins a two-week and a day preemption. It will last for 11 episodes.

Viewers will only get to see a total of nine episodes for the entire month of February. Of interest, this is the first time the Winter Olympics preempted DOOL for this many days. The TV network has broadcasting rights for this sports event that dates back to the late 1980s.

There’s no Days of our Lives for a couple of weeks since NBC paid over $7 billion for the rights to air the Olympics until 2032. So, fans can enjoy, skiing, skating, and bobsledding events from February 4 – 18. The action before the interruption will leave us some huge cliffhangers.

DOOL Cliffhangers: Kidnapping and Island Drama for Abigail Deveraux & Sarah Horton

One story leading up to the preemption is Abigail Deveraux‘s (Marci Miller) captivity. She got too close to the truth about Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). She knows someone’s wearing a Sarah mask. But the partners-in-crime stay one step ahead of the investigative reporter.

But Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) could lose it all if her nosy little sister keeps digging. Now, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) helps her new gal pal with the trickery. And Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) placed a well-timed phone call to her sister-in-law, on Days of our Lives.

Two-week spoilers reveal Abigail’s clobbered. Of course, the only place to store her is none other than the infamous DiMera Island. The real Sarah’s been stashed there almost a year. Will Abigail find her cousin?

And will Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) join forces with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) to find their missing women? Fans may not find out until after the Winter Olympics end. With this much build-up, it’ll be frustrating to not see a resolution until late Feb or early March.

Secrets Come to the Surface on Days of our Lives

DOOL spoilers reveal Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) has a huge secret. He followed his wife Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) to Salem recently for damage control. She told Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) she suspects her husband is having an affair.

Days of our Lives spoilers suggest Chloe overhears her dad on a phone call. Craig tells his daughter the truth. Sources hint he’s been having a fling with another man. How will Nancy take the news when Craig comes out of the closet? This scenario is a first for NBC’s Days.

The past comes back to haunt Paulina Price (Jackee Harry). Her sketchy ex, TJ Coates (William Christian) comes to town on business. Needless to say, Paulina got freaked out. This is her daughter, Lani Price’s (Sal Stowers) dad.

Further, Mama P. may not be able to stop her firstborn from looking into her parentage. But this man is dangerous. Will Paulina trust Abe Carver (James Reynolds) to help her? Catch them before the preemption February 4 – 18.
